Thing was Preston was a Tory who claimed he was an Independent but slavishly followed the Tory brief - so much so he almost destroyed his own council. Typical Tory cockiness meant he just assumed he would win another term which was reflected in his limited campaigning and he lost.

This new guy is looking at things from the other side and could be a breath of fresh air

We have created a system where this is rhe case and it discourages work whilst the tax payer who flogs his / hers guts out and gets treated with contempt.
I heard a story last week from a colleague who told me 8 people applied for a warehouse job, agreed interviews and all of them no showed.
I genuinely think some people dont want to work and its about time the government had them doing something.

You have fallen for the tories divide and conquer , they went private v public sector now it is the turn of workers v benefits despite most on UC are in work and a big chunk of benefits are pensions , you froth away or do some independent research

And have a quick look at the cost of so-called benefit fraud, and compare it to how much is denied the country’s coffers by the stashing trillions of untaxed income in offshore accounts by tories and their buddies.
