For what it’s worth, there is a local council by-election near me in Essex which is solid Tory. Talked to the canvassers and it’s a straight fight between Labour and Reform. The Tory vote is on the floor. Can’t see Labour winning given the area, but I’m surprised by how much the Tory vote has collapsed.
I’m even more surprised by the lack of action on the Tory leadership front. But then what is the point of the Tory party? Being Reform lite is pointless. They are no longer the party of business, so what exactly who or what are they meant to represent?
