As it turned out I quite enjoyed the third division. Some of the trips were a laugh (I was 16/17 that season so learning the delights of getting pissed up at the footy for the first time!).
I always thought it was character building and made me realise we were just another club like all those down there at that level. I look at the teams still down there and see so many similar names. I've got a lot of respect for fans who go and watch those teams week-in-week-out, proper loyal fans. We were only there one year.
But the feeling of getting relegated to that division, well, it was horrible!

but we kept the faith (just about!!!!!)

Bad times, I was in Australia at the time and the only way to follow City was on the BBC World Service (radio) so there was a sense of detachment but still misery.
But those bad days have helped give our fans the character that makes us so much different from rags and dippers, hopefully something that will never change despite some uneasy signs.
Who knows we could be back down there again some day, nothing is for certain in football, so we should appreciate every day of this City and never take it for granted.

Thrown out just after half time for being in the Stoke end with my dad, uncle and 3 cousins. Moody as fuck before the game! Superb!

Same age mate so for a few years the Bescot, Priestfield etc were the norm as far as I was concerned ha.
On the other side of teams still being down there, watching videos like this and knowing that we played Stoke and Fulham in the 3rd tier that season is slightly surreal.
