The end of Dzeko

Nice guys finish last, so no point discussing whether Edin is likable, Tevez detestable, Mario undependable, Kun perfect... so I'll focus on playing ability.

In form Tevez is among top 10 players in the world. On anyone's list.
Dzeko will never be in top 10. Nor will Balotelli. Aguero is on the right trajectory and it may take him another two years like this one to reach that rarefied stratosphere.

Based on that reasoning, Tevez is first choice striker and Aguero second. Love Mancini has for Balo makes him third choice. That leaves Dzeko on the bench.

I don't know what his ambitions in life are, but I wouldn't want to sit on the bench. He may get less money on another team, but if it means playing competitive football he'd probably take it.

All that said, club would keep him if he fit Mancini's system. He does not and will be gone this summer.

That is not end of the world as we know it! It's what's best for him and the club.
Hopefully he has a chance to celebrate winning the PL title with the team before he leaves.

I think you are overrating Tevez. He is behind Aguero for me in world football. Not that that makes hims bad!!

I genuinely think edin can be a consistent goal scorer for us, the problem is bobby clearly has lost faith. I think of the current crop he is the best partner for aguero. Tevez is a short term option lets not forget. Give big Ed some more time!

If Mancini has 'lost faith' in Dzeko, surely Edin would want to prove him wrong and show him he made a mistake instead of sauntering round the pitch sucking a lemon.

In the last game he wa used as a substitute in the 73rd minute. what was his contribution? almost nothing.

Taking into consideration that we were playing WBA in our home ground, and the opponent conceded already 4 goals, and players were tired, and yet he managed to deliver almost nothing.

Mins played: 16
Successful tackles: 0
completed passes: 4 out of 5
Shots on target: 0
Assist: 0

There is a big question mark on the performance of the player, and it is clear that he no longer has the desire or he may had lost confidence on himself and the coach

For me, a fit Tevez (and in form) is a better player than Aguero.

He is more complete. Tevez has better movement, and is a better passer as well. When Tevez is fit, we see him successfully dribble in ways Kun rarely does. Granted, they're different sort of strikers though.

In general terms, it goes to show that players who excell in the Bundesliga do not necessarily succeed in the English Premier League, only a few rare exceptions spring to mind.

I don't think it has anything to do with the league. The Bundesliga is a top league, and is producing and embracing a lot of technical players. The quality of that league is good. Look at Cissé. He was at Freiburg and is now scoring great goals at Newcastle.

I think the problem is our system. The way we play doesn't suit Dzeko one bit, I think that will never change.

You don't change your system to accomodate one player unless he's one of the very best.

I think they're very similar; small, strong, hammer of a right foot.

Tevez's vision (when he uses it) is far superior to Aguero, his ability to harass and challenge for ariel/second ball's is also much better. They can both be quite wasteful, but i'd probably say Tevez utilises his chance/goal ratio more than Aguero.

It's a shame because at one point i really wanted to finish the season without Tevez, now i think if only we'd had him all season, we'd have had a good deal more points.
