again look at the passion Madrid fans have
You're in for a surprise when Madrid turn up, I'll bet there are less than 500 passion filled madrid fans at the etihad.

They will still make more noise than us and jump around and live a bit !

With the exception of about 500 fans behind the goal and when they scored Madrid fans were deathly silent at the Bernebeu. They are many things but passionate in the sense of noisy they are not.

Would you blame a city fan family looking at their finances now to be thinking.

"do you know £150 for the four of us for real Madrid at home, a game that is on telly is a bit too much"

I wouldn't.

£50 for Madrid is a weeks shopping for some family's.

How is that right?

As for the singing, we have 2000 or so people who choose to stand up all game in the singing section and who don't sing much so expecting everyone else to is a bit much.

Being 2.0 down after 15 mins hardly helps either.

Real Madrid fans are not that good, a typical sing when they're winning big club fanbase with thousands of tourists every game. We've had better atmospheres than them, their ground has a presence and aura but you'll rarely get an atmosphere like last year's derby there.

Maybe if we could get a pint in the ground things would livin up ?

£50 a ticket and you cant get a pint ffs ....... another conspiracy ....... :)

the truth is we struggled and failed to fill the ground last season for champions league (munich apart), the club then in their wisdom chose to increase prices compared to last season, and hey presto the same situation has arisen, with even less attending.

All our group are considering sacking off the euro scheme next season, the incentive is minimal, in fact it encourages the club to hike the prices which they have done.

the real madrid is all but a dead rubber, but instead of awaiting the outcome of the ajax game, the club went ahead with even higher prices, a cynical move in my opinion.

if meeting financial fair play means alienating your own supporters then city are going the right way about it, the champions league should be the pinnacle of your supporting life, and yet for whatever reason the club doesnt know how to price the game to fill the stadium.

and cleavers point about 25% of the supporters there having no affiliation with the club is correct, and says much about where we are heading.

I see members of the shadow cabinet are working their magic trying to make this thread about me and Dave too.

Standard fare from the dull and uninspired dingos. The OP may well not be a rag, but if he isn't then he's not very bright in my opinion. No doubt that will expedite his own seat at the table.

Regarding our attendances I think they are pretty good and even if the price was £20 on Tuesday I feel it still would of been around 40k.. Atmosphere wise it's hard work up in tier 3 and I'm one who watches and responds to what's going on on the pitch..

I just think people now a days have different priorities, look at all the pubs that a closing and the ones that are still open are mainly finding it hard, especially when you can buy a six pack for the price of a couple of pints then go home and in comfort watch the football on your 42" TV

It's Allright saying Madrid and utd games will be a sell out but ppl will prioritise them games and save up for them I had a season ticket for 35yrs then lost my job 4yrs ago and had to let it go so now I have to pick my games the job I now have is only just above min wage so I have to save and to fork out up to £70-80 mid week is a no go and I think this is the same for most of our fans !! .

i dont advocate giving the tickets away, but when families are being asked to part with a ton on a midweek night, then it stands to reason loads are going to watch it on the box.
This. And I was there, and will do 5 of the 6 games in europe this season at great expense.

The atmosphere was flat because we were 2-0 down after 17 minutes, in a game we really had to win.

Doesn't help when about 25% of those there have little or no affiliation to the club, and aren't particularly interested in the game.

Sorry Cleavers but it was flat before we went two goals down, i dont think you can attribute it to that, although in one sense you are right it then didnt help.

The thing that really surprised me was when the score from madrid was shown at half time i thought it would give the fans impetus but it didnt really spark from that.

Cleary, its a two way thing, sometimes the players through their play give the atmosphere that spark but sometimes its up to us to try and give that spark to the players.

To me its magical when the crowd come together as one and you can literally see the players lift and respond and conversely ive seen that panic setting in to the opposition.

Absolutley agree . This also shows the naivety (or maybe ruthlessness) of MCFC in there CL pricing stratergy . Maybe the "wrong" fans are now being attracted ??? All these issues are now arising with our new status in English football . Even if was £20 last tuesday would our fans still be quiet ? i think the answer is yes ....... its a learning curve for everyone associated with the club and certain issues need addressing .
