It is up to any individual how they support the club. We have a great minority, who will and always have supported the club,in a positive manner but a majority who are miserable grey sods, City fans are excellent when winning.very quiet when behind. It is because the result is so vital to them, rather than the experience of the match .
These times may not last forever, but like health people cannot appreciate good times when they have them. I now ignore the moans next to me, wear ear plugs at home matches, and appreciate we are all different. My advice is support in your own way, and let them get on with being criitcal.

The most cursory glance at his posting history shows that the overwhelmingly vast majority of posts are about us supporters and how bad we are. Rarely is he seen after a victory or when things are going well - and even if he is it's only to have a go at some section of our support. Very very dubious.
Give this man a biscuit! Spot on. I'm a pensioner and have supported City since 1953. It costs me (for me and the misses) about £150 per home game to attend (tickets, petrol, parking, programme, food & drink). I can't afford £150 per match but it's nice to know you and 40,000 others can. When I do attend (all EPL games = 303, S 54 & 55) I give 100% support. What is obvious to me, and has a bearing on the volume of noise in the stadium, is when City 'go for it', at a high tempo, the noise goes up in proportion to the effort. Draw your own conclusion.fathellensbellend said:how about the club tried to squeeze every last penny out of already hard up fans, instead of making the prices competitive and filling the ground with passionate blues and creating a partizan atmosphere.
city are happy to try and fill the ground with anyone, which is fair enough, but when you are pricing your core support out, dont be suprised when the it comes back to bite you on your arse.
tuesday night was as flat as a pancake, more like a league cup game, something is missing from these nights.
for all the money in the game, surely the club acting in unison with the fans and filling the ground would be better for all concerned.
i dont advocate giving the tickets away, but when families are being asked to part with a ton on a midweek night, then it stands to reason loads are going to watch it on the box.

This. And I was there, and will do 5 of the 6 games in europe this season at great expense.fathellensbellend said:i dont advocate giving the tickets away, but when families are being asked to part with a ton on a midweek night, then it stands to reason loads are going to watch it on the box.

Great points, i guess i just get frustrated that they cant see the merits of supporting the team and how the overall experience for everyone would be better if we focus on the positives for 90 minutes.
No one would achieve anything if they focused on whats not good or what they cant do rather than what you can, but i guess i should be more accepting ut its difficult when you genuinely believe it is affecting what you see out on the pitch.
Ok so its the players jobs, they should always give 110 % etc, but how can you expect the players to care when the fans don't seem to?

We spent 44 years waiting for our club to battle it out in footballs elite competition, the Champions League, (or it's precursor the European Cup) and no sooner are we presented with the opportunity our fans treat the occasion with contempt, like its a game against Wigan in the premier league or carling cup.
We don't sell out, yet we can sell out a 3rd round cup tie against the rags in the FA Cup (You have to question therefore what motivates a proportion of our fans) for me Dortmund in the Champs league is a way bigger game.
Those that do turn up (some credit here) and then the atmosphere is as flat as a pancake with no passion for the team or the occasion. I'm sorry but 40,000 in a champs league game against Ajax is embarrassing.
Celtic showed what can happen with 'real' passionate support behind you that nothing is impossible. We, let our players and our team down.
We have one game against Real Madrid to turn our reputation around, albeit sadly I fear too late. We 'the fans' didn't turn up. If you're a regular who didn't go, but decided to watch it on the tele - hang your head in shame.
Its easy to come on here and slag this player or the manager - but just what did you do to help the team come through !? My guess is the majority moaning did absolutely jack sh*t.
I sing, every game, most of the time its wasted breath but I still turn up and sing. If you go to the game it's what you should do, it's about our reputation as fans and it's about helping OUR team get the outcome we want.
As I say, we have one last chance to show our players what pulling on the blue shirt in a champions league means to us - the fans. If you are a blue, be there, and GET BEHIND THE TEAM.
Blue army.
