Boateng was a post-takeover buy from the Bundesliga and a reasonable transfer fee (we even made a profit after he didn't settle in here). There are teams in certain leagues that will always do business fairly and right now Spanish clubs are accepting some derisory offers for good players (£2million for Michu) because they are desperate to service their debts. Godin is up for sale at £8million for example, that's a fair price for a good defender. Not saying we should sign him but just an example of value in the market.
