The gloryhunters are starting to arrive...

There is no evidence whatsoever that this will happen. Fear and ignorance are frequent bedfellows.

Actually I think you'll find that there is plenty of evidence that the seeds are being planted already ...........

The more the merrier, Perhaps we will be able to open the full stadium for this seasons Europa and carling cup games and not have the piss taken for the pathetic attendances in the past.

Only hard core turn up for these games....it will be the same this season. Unless we get through to latter stages then we'll sell out

If only the hardcore attend these games, then there should be enough room for me without being a burden on old supporters, eh? And what are the chances for me to secure tickets to an important match when you have a loyalty points system that inherently and overwhelmingly favors local Mancs (as I agree it should)? I would suggest ticket prices would go up to pay the salaries of City talent, not to attract foreigners at the expense of local Mancunians.

I was in mcr city centre last Tuesday for an hour and counted 14 City shirts to 3 Trafford Rangers. I didn't do this purposely it was just that after being in town for only 5 minutes I had noticed 5 different people all ages and gender wearing City tops and it struck me as being weird for some unknown reason.

-- Sun Jul 04, 2010 3:34 pm --

May it be that the home shirt is now only £10? I don't know, refreshing change though.

It's a difficult one..we crave success but want the club to remain the same and be affordaable to the hardcore loyal blues who have followed the club through thick and thinner. ( like me)

I believe season tickets overall were reduced in price this season, kids tickets are traditionally very reasonably priced and the value seasoncard has been a bargain for many. From what I've read I think the main sticking point has been one of inconvenience rather than pricing. It seems the club is going forward with many interesting and quite exciting initiatives, especially for those with children, and also have identified a few problems that need sorting such as queues for beer at half-time.

My hope is that the above will continue as a trend, in which case I think we'll all be OK - perhaps I'm being over optimistic.

I don't want to argue with you and I'm sure you have a point to make, but I wanted to highlight that Manchester is a very welcoming city with a rich cosmopolitan feel. In my experience the Citizens of Manchester are mostly open-minded and the best of fans.

All good, Pierod and CvS...I met a nice sample of Mancs at the Mad Hatter in NYC watching City v. Arsenal last April. What a great time. I cannot wait to come over, regardless of some of these posts. And besides--I just ordered my inflatable banana for the New York games in 3 weeks. No returns.

Although I'm not against the youngsters choosing City as their "first and only " team I am FULLY against the more older fans changing teams mid stream. Its funny because I suspect a lot of City fans will now have to explain why they're a City fan and how long they've been supporting them because everyone we meet will suspect that were just a glory hunter. I now realise what it must've been like for those older loyal rag fans when they were winning everything under the sun. Oh well fuck em as long as I know in my mind that I've suffered through some terrible times to get this point of smugness thats all that matters.

We have a loyalty points system, no gloryhunter will be able to buy them points earned threw the years.
Come back in 10 years might be different but for now no chance of it happening.

dont mind new fans. like someone said before, we was all new at one time. although most of us was new when city were shite!! i just dont like the day tripper brigade. cameras for facebook pics etc. then again, i cant stand seeing lads tking their girlfriends on a date at eastlands. my missus wouldnt get anywhere near eastlands

I have a feeling you totally just don't get my point....no worries. Enjoy whichever games you choose to go to........

This.

I would think you would be so much more wary of the supporter that can change colors for glory than a person with no history new to supporting the team --no matter the age (or nationality, for that matter).
