Here's a scenario-Would you leave your childs bedside if he was poorly in hospital for a cup final???

Your missing the point completely mate, nobody is ill, nobody is in hospital, all that's happening is your wife is going pissed out of her face while your at home babysitting. Simple as that really.

Cheers fella...The thread was actually started as I was feeling really down about it but in essence all is not lost at the mo - People can call me all they like and I will never ever have to justify putting my 3 kids before any football game. My 13yr old who I took to the semi on Saturday said "Dad,you know what mate-I understand we cant always go to games because of other things"...He is more grown up at 13 than many who just want to rip me out.

My wife has actually apologised to me and we are trying to sort childcare out - I told her she has nothing to apologise to me for

Anyway - I can be called a points whore if I dont go...however it is 50-50 at the moment. I might just drive down on my own.If my mates still want to do the train.

You don't have to prove nothing to anybody.

I actually feel sorry for people who prioritise football over family. It's the other way around, at least it should be.

How about a nice day with the kids, take em to the park and get em an ice-cream etc. Then watch the game at home eith them and if City win (of course we will) then there's a treat. That way the kids will be buzzing for City and they'll enjoy the game knowing that a result will get them a treat.

It works for me anyway. I have respect with hardcore fans who travel length of country but for me, a house deposit and time with child is precious.

That's a good move (pun intended).

I work alternate weekends and go to games as and when I can, I bring the little one or I come up on my own. However, if things are stretched or work gets in the way then I have to settle with sky+ or delayed viewing on sky later on.

I don't apologise either, that's the way it is and I do my best. If people don't like it fuck em, Alex should be that way too. He made it for the semi (I worked it but got home before kick off) and can't make the final, unlucky but his priorities are right and he shouldn't get any flack at all.

We were back before 11 on Sunday and that was with my wife driving!

All this talk of extra time and pens I just cant see it. I am very confident we will beat Wigan in 90mins.
We have discussed parking at Watford and travelling down..What do you think?
Any other ideas for people who have to drive for the best options

We parked a five minute walk from Wembley
After the game we stayed around a bit and when we got to the car there was still a bit of traffic
So we sat on the boot, had a beer and a bit to eat then set off
We were minutes from the M1 and were home fairly rapid considering every fucker on four wheels overtook us
