Spursmad - what do you think Terry has done behind the scenes at Chelsea over the last few days. Was a formal transfer request put in? Did Chelsea give it back and tell him to think about? Just interested to see if you have an angle on this.

I have been told that JT wants go to Man City he wants a new challange, I was then told that he was going to put in a transfer request, I haven't been told if this as happened, but he will do it if he has to.

SM you say you wouldnt give up on Eto'o just yet, this puts me in somewhat of a quandry !

I would clearly like to obtain the services of Eto'o but I also would feel reassured that when the chairman says "deals off" he means deals off, if he goes back on his very public statement then we leave ourselves wide open in the future to not really being believed. Unfortunately in our early stages of development I think we need to draw a line in the sand and demonstrate that what we say we mean to future and pending transfers. In this case unfortunately I hope that is at the expense of Samuel Eto'o and Barcelona. well if your going to make a point make a fucking big un ;o)

Samuel Eto'o is undoubtedly a fine footballer but the circumstances surrounding him were such that the deal could not be completed.

that's quite cleverly worded. it leaves room for manouvre if 'the circumstances surrounding him' change.

How could you know that? I can understand you have links with someone at City, but it's stretching it a bit to believe you have contacts at Barca, Eto'o, or MUFC.

Alledgedly United made an enquiry about the player, were told that Barca wanted the fee up front, then shat themselves at his wage demands, even at the 'reduced rate' .

Spanish tax is at 23% ish and our new 50% tax rate, although there are ways round that hes gonna have to be paid roughly 180k p/w gross to get near to what he was on a barca wich im sure someone knows, must have been about 100 - 120 k.

hes not going to move for less is he. Especially as hes after a bumper deal to set him up.
