The Labour Government

It's already been stated by the likes of the IFS over the past few days that the Tories weren't being totally upfront, yet here you are clutching at straws.

Oh, and Labour will have to do far more "wrong" than this to even come close to what your dickhead Tory mates have been up to for the past 14 years.
He’s more on the left, Starmer burned him and his idol, that’s where the hate comes from and the relentless ‘Feral Rat’ tweets.

Pensioners are having to pay towards two unaffordable NI cuts granted by the Tories.

If you wanted to put a positive spin on it, you could say money is being taken from the old and given to younger working people.

Why did the Tories grant two unaffordable NI cuts? In the hope of electoral gain. They knew the chances were they wouldn't have to sort out the consequences.
Those 2 NI cuts have given me approx £250.00 per month, so many pensioners who have private pensions will be very much better off. It’s those that are just above the margins that I feel for, and am uneasy with their plight.

Is Reeves going to increase the minimum pensions limit? I do hope so.

You stop paying NI contributions when you reach state pension age, so I'm not sure who you think will be better off ?

What, they don’t pay NI, even if they’re loaded?
If you live off pensions (or investments) you can be on a million pounds a week but not pay NI.

No pensioner pays a penny in NI. If you have your 35 years of paying it (or more) you have already paid for your state pension. You don't need sickness or unemployment benefits either. So there is a logic to it.

That's got fuck all to do with you, all I know is that people that have paid fuck all into the system will get it

Yep. The time of the feral, feckless, and bone idle benefit scroungers has come.

Conservatism ..... that intense fear that somewhere , somehow , someone you consider as inferior is being treated as your equal.

Doesn’t sound logical to me, NI has never gone towards pensions, just notionally.

Well, the rule is you pay 35 years (minimum) NI to get a full pension.

And it is supposed to be insurance for things like sickness pay and unemployment pay which by definition retired people do not need.

The problem is, people seem to have forgotten that we insure ourselves for sickness and unemployment because Tories have persuaded them that anyone on sick or unemployed is a 'scrounger'.

That's like saying someone who has a crash in a car and claims on insurance is a scrounger.

If you argue that NI premiums are too low to pay for all this, maybe, but that's not the fault of the contributor.
