The Labour Government

Those 2 NI cuts have given me approx £250.00 per month, so many pensioners who have private pensions will be very much better off. It’s those that are just above the margins that I feel for, and am uneasy with their plight.

Is Reeves going to increase the minimum pensions limit? I do hope so.
Same here regarding the low income pensioners. From what i can tell those on basic state pension should be ok. The new 'rules' state that those on benefits and pension credit. will NOT have the wfp removed, hopefully protecting the most vulnerable.
There is always a cut off point and the ones just above it get the shit end of the stick. My married daughter and hubby both work and earn just enough to take them above the threshold for any benefit or top ups.

I’ll pay, and many more like me. Some of us are a little bit better off and expect to pay our share, yet the Tories have just given me a load of extra money in my pay packet when our social infrastructure is/has crumbled.

What the fuck were they playing at?
Thats the thing its everyone paying a share, I dont mind paying a bit extra but it needs to be a percentage off everyone.

The Tories pissed money away like nobodys business, but to correct this it requires everyone to take a hit, unless there is some way to recoup it from large businesses who had their noses in the trough. The hit for some will be bigger than others as they are more able to pay, but no person should go untouched.

Whilst politics can linger in the past scoring points off one another, playing the blame game, the problem is how to fund improvements in the UK and stabilise the rot and pointing fingers isnt gonna solve it.

Bottom line is, both political parties were treating the electorate like children by saying no to changes in the major forms of taxation.

There are no NI deductions on private pensions.

It's already been stated by the likes of the IFS over the past few days that the Tories weren't being totally upfront, yet here you are clutching at straws.
Absolutely. My point was that the total figure is in the same ball park as the one already known. Given Reeves is on the record for ending it as far back as 2014 they were always going to do it. Like the Tories they just weren't upfront about it.
As for straw clutching ...
Oh, and Labour will have to do far more "wrong" than this to even come close to what your dickhead Tory mates have been up to for the past 14 years.
So anybody not blindly cheering on every move the new government makes like it's their football team is a Tory now? Or indeed the tired old classic
Ah right. Didn't realise he was a Corbyn fan boy. Some of that lot are seriously bitter about Starmer
Not a fan of austerity governments regardless of the colour of the rosette is all it is pal.

It's hardly an austerity government, more an austerity measure. And given that it's now been cleared up that you're not a Tory, I'm sure you won't have an issue in anyone blaming any Labour austerity measures on the state of the finances that the previous government left them with.

Not getting rid of the 2 child limit for universal credit
Keeping the bedroom tax
Taxes going up
Using private healthcare to help (save the NHS)

All of these things were a cunts trick when the Tories used them.
