The Labour Government

At the moment you can take 25% of your private pension tax free there is talk already that this is gonna be reduced, so you pay more tax. The saying means tested should apply to all celebrities and millionaires on how much they can earn might as well piss them off as well.

You're doing okay, £1,500 a month before your state pension kicks in. Whatever the missus gets. I'm sure you said you retired at 50 but I may have misread

I may have mistyped 5 for a 6 haven't checked back and yes £1500 covers my costs. I have no idea what my Mrs gets we don't share banking details but you can work it out on 16 hours X min wage. Same with my daughter who lives here - works retail similar hours similar wage - I don't ask her for anything for bed and board we cope ok.

They’ll be cutting state pensions for people with private pensions next. Alternatively set the age so high on state pensions that you never live long enough to see it.

Whoever mentioned all those pensioners being internet savvy, how come loads of them aren't claiming pension credits then if they're all clued up with all the information at their fingertips?
I missed that point, it's been quite a day with one thing and another.

and this from 2015 (I think). There is a slightly longer version where she boasts of filing through the lobbies with the Tories to support their welfare reforms with an emphasis on the 2 child cap. Remember last week .... things not being in Kings speeches and all that.

More an obsession than a tough choice.

were we at Govt spending being 97% of GDP back then? Did we have record taxation then? Time change and you have to change with them - many documents released by Govt Depts the IFS and the OBR being released today will haunt your favoured Tories for years to come - they can no longer claim to be the Party of business nor fiscal responsibility
What a load of bollocks.
1. The IFS said there a £20bn hole to fill in Labour spending plans
2. OBR snd other think tanks said there were big holes to fill (excluding inflationary public sector pay rises add that in and there you go.
3. Labour has had weekly meetings with the Treasury since Jan being told the whole picture. (It's what happens in the last year of government).
There are no surprises. Nothing of anything like the size Rachel is stating anyway.
If there are Rachel should resign on the spot.
Then to tax those with a basic state pension sion - shesh.
