The problem for Reeves is if she backs down and sets a higher threshold she’ll be seen as weak once you look at the bigger picture of public sector pay awards. Rightly or wrongly that will spook markets now.

I don't mind paying if it does show improvement long term. However I expect the people who can afford more to pay their fucking share.
