Why not just make it the requirement that someone inheriting land free of tax has to have worked on the farm for X amount of hours or earned X percentage of their income from farming on that farm for X years before their relative died?

That would be reasonable IMHO. Or some such approach.

If you read the article .... you'll see that the figure has been approximated and rounded up to the nearest 50,000 (not taking into account those that are eligible for Pension Credit either)

Defence dept has been a basket case for years, not seen this on the news yet so cant comment on that but it needed a real shake up

it is shameful what the tories have done to troop numbers and having ships with no planes or nobody to staff them etc, it is a fucking mess

So retail warning them of the cost to jobs Reeves budget will have, Farmers pissed off, Pensioners pissed off and now inflation up from 1.7% to 2.3% but it’s all ok apparently if you listen to Labour ministers with their scripted 3 word catchphrases and their supporters on here.

Our company alone is facing a £150000 hike thanks to Reeves next year at least.

By all means support the Labour Party over the Tories, I too voted Labour but please don’t defend the shit they’re coming up with at the moment because it’s disastrous and if you close your eyes you would be forgiven for thinking it’s the Tories doing this shit.

I didn’t vote for Labour but nothing they’ve done has really surprised me so far, aside from the pensioners bit but even then it’s the implementation I have an issue with rather than the principle.

Ultimately, taxes always were going to have to go up somehow, I’m not sure what people are suggesting they should have done or who they should have pissed off instead?

I don’t get the sentiment that it’s all ok from anyone, think most people are aligned that we’re in a really shit situation generally and will be for a while at the very least.
