The Labour Government

Labour are up against it in controlling the narrative as the media in this country has degenerated into an absolute shitshow, nonetheless they are absolutely useless at it to boot too. It's unfortunate that neither Starmer nor Reeves have a oratory as one of their strengths but ignoring that, just things like to the strategy to use the specific 22billion number struck me as odd, both too easy to nit pick and too abstract at the same time.
Labour are shooting themselves in the foot.
Growth has flattened and many pensioners are scared to death.
Never in a billion years did I think Labour would out do the Sunnak's Torries for incompetence- yet here we are.

When Labour did try to control the narrative, they were accused of being doom mongers and talking the country down. It's staggering that we want our politicians to be honest and open, until we don't like what they are saying. There is very little that I can think of that actually works as it should. The problem, of course, is that just chucking cash at much of it is not the solution but root and branch reform is required. But then plenty will moan as it's taking place.

The media response to the farmers issue was all I needed to know these lot haven’t got a chance.

yep, literally any policy they introduce is met with a tidal wave of anger and outrage and it filters to normal folk pretty quick - bloke at my work last week, never known him to be political was slagging off Starmer for attending the Armistice in France.

It’s also why Starmer isn’t really responding to any of it. He’s got a huge majority and can do pretty much what he likes until the next election, whatever Twitter campaigns there are.

You only have to watch the likes of Sky News to see how it works. They interview a Labour spokesperson, allow them to say what they’re there for before dismissing it and coming out with some tedious question that nobody could answer and then follow it up with some influencer who spins the interview to what Sky News want you to hear. Usually, then followed up with a member of the opposition who then spins it even further.

It’s become the norm as the media turn real issues into political puppets of their choice.

Maybe ...just maybe...... its because some of the ''media'' also own farms such as Dacre previously of the Daily Mail who owns a large farm in Wadhurst, East Sussex,(4700 acres ) and the 17,000-acre (69 km2) Langwell Estate near Ullapool in the Scottish Highlands

He lives in Belgravia London .... so he's hardly getting his hands dirty.

Without doubt. In times of need the media are worrying about millionaire farmers. That is all.
