The Labour Government

How quickly should it take to sort out a 22 billion black hole , health service on strike and walkouts , Train strikes grounding services to a halt, and Farage inspired riots - that’s just a fraction of the shit Labour had to walk into.
So called holes in budgets are fixed by the stroke of a pen, followed by a finance bill. it doesn't take long. You are just doing what all govs do, giving previous actions as excuses. I have seen enough of that, thank you. I would love for the day to arrive when a gov does not blame the other side for their own failings but just gets on with it. Last time I looked, the gov was not responsible for a train strike, for example, that was unions and TOCs.

Doesn’t suprise me at all, Labour getting blamed for absolutely anything people can think off, the media, social media with its constant anti Labour propaganda will shift the electorate to the right, the Tories are finished and with a little nidge from Musk then the lovely Farage should be next in line.
Or (radical suggestion alert), the plebs feeling underwhelmed by Labour's efforts so far? It is only 5 months, mind. Perhaps see how they've done by the time the next election comes around?

Whatever Labour do it will not please, they implemented big changes in workers rights bills , it was hardly mentioned.
They’ve deported 10,000 and making positive steps by making deals with Europe and Middle East on migration - it’s hardly mentioned.
Anything positive will just be ignored.

That video seems to be 8 years old.

This is the article.

I saw the post on a Rolling Thunder face book page. If you don't know who they are, they campaign for military veterans.

It's entirely plausible to assume that if the Torries and Reform merged their ideas and policies Labour could easily lose the next GE. Whether they are calable of doing so or will or not is another matter.

I haven't seen those deportation numbers, do you have a link please?

It is.
Then we’ll be totally like America.

Starmer = Harris
Farage = Trump

Good news!

Question for you, why do we have to fly these people out. The Oriah are just putting them on Ferries back to the UK without any processing of asylum claims. Why doesn't the UK just do the same and return the illegal boat crossing people back to France.

I think there is a large element of moderate Torry voters who would never accept Farage or his policies. So it's probably unlikely. But Starmer and co shouldn't take this for granted as they themselves are not a popular government.

Probably to do with international law/human rights. I’m guessing.

Exactly, the UK government is committed to £127bn of excess spending and they've just chosen to specifically mention £22bn. The other £105bn is still just unfunded borrowing which nobody seems arsed about.

The only question really is whether we're undertaxed, overspending, both.. or neither. We can increase GDP but that looks to be ridiculous given we and the rest of Europe are essentially in recession.

Our second biggest trading partner is Germany and Germany hasn't posted any growth for over a year. Our biggest trading partner is the US and we're going to soon see a Trump administration which will be hostile towards Europe. Trump could also be hostile to the UK if Labour gets that relationship wrong and then we're absolutely f*cked.

Trump just loves William. We will be OK. ;-)

Quite enjoy a functioning government, putting forward policies and following them through.

Where’s Starmer today, flying around the globe creating interest in the British economy.

Nice to see a PM actually doing what they need to for the country, not interviewing X billionaires in the hope of feathering their own nest.
