I don’t think we will agree on what he meant - he rarely knows himself so pointless anyone trying to second guess.
I’ve not read the article as it’s the telegraph and going to be behind a paywall. Do we have all the facts and figures - eg how long she worked, how much stamp she paid, etc etc to be able to draw any conclusions as to her income?
If you're second guessing what someone meant, then maybe lay off on assuming he's a "nasty spiteful fucker"?
The article says she has the "full new state pension", and a teacher's pension, and refers to her working as a teacher multiple times, including in the sub-headline. They mention the £3 as being the 'cut off point', as if she missed out by just £3, in the very same paragraph that says she gets a teacher's pension.
Ironically, the Telegraph is the paper with the most articles complaining about teacher's pensions being too high :/
Why has he had to rule them out. He has such a huge majority in Parliament he's pretty much invulnerable at the momentHmm, Brexit is one of the reasons we are in the shitty place we are. Not the only reason, but one, and one that will not go away.
It's scarcely a socialist budget that takes a benefit away from most/many pensioners. It's actually a budget that seeks to 'balance the books' which is what people have been told is desirable over the last 40 years.
As I have mentioned before, there are no simple, easy answers and anyone who says that there are is either deluded or disingenuous. All the choices are shit - apart, possibly, from joining the EU Customs Union, which would be painless and both cut bureaucracy and boost the currency. But for political reasons, Starmer has had to rule that out, as he has had to rule out raising all the fairest taxes.
Because of promises made in the Labour manifesto. Why has he had to rule them out. He has such a huge majority in Parliament he's pretty much invulnerable at the moment
Nah you’re alright he has form on this topic.
Do you have a link to the article that’s not behind a paywall?

I'm merely pointing out that in one forum Labour govt imposed costs will inevitably be passed on to the consumer whilst in another forum, other enforced costs are apparently not . But hey, it's an uncomfortable truth that a few on here can't or won't acknowledge.View attachment 143022
Lol … ffs Hants let it go .
That's quite funny actually.Because of promises made in the Labour manifesto.
Well done Sarah Champion .

But true unfortunately. They were crazy to rule out rises in personal taxes, especially VAT. But imagine the DM headlines if they had not done so. It's the fear of press reaction that forces politicians of all persuasions to back themselves into a corner and make untenable promises. That's quite funny actually.
The Scottish inquiry is now over 8 years old and still nowhere near finished.Great stuff - another £200m and 7 years of kids being assaulted to get to where we are now - i.e the vast majority of grooming gangs are white Christian

We don’t know her circumstances but a lot more to her story than published.
1 seems sensible. They should take a deep dive into the information they already have on the matter and act accordingly. Amongst other things that saves victims going through the whole evidence process again It may take 6 months but that's better than 7 years. I wonder when the investigation into the 95% of cases perpetrated by white men will be called for and start? There are 2 choices
1/ act upon the info you have from the results of an enquiry that you have paid for
2/ have another lengthy enquiry and kick the can down the road - the Tory way - Grenfell, Horizon and so on. Grenfell £170m - Horizon £135m - cheaper than actually paying the compensation and effecting the results recommended
