How Spain’s radically different approach to migration helped its economy soar
As immigration has increased, GDP has surged and unemployment has fallen to lowest level since 2008
A good example of what can be achieved when a government has the courage to positively sell migration to the electorate rather than the mealy mouthed bollocks from starmer trying to court the 'center right".Interesting article on how Spain is dealing with the migration conundrum. There are obviously comebacks like certain areas highlighting over tourism, I’m not disputing it just pointing out there are alternatives to the right wing extremist solution.![]()

I'm Assuming starmer is probably full of shit and will make a u-turn on that as per other pledges, so no worries.Let's see how they plan to pay for the new War footing era.
God help us all.
Tax increases will be needed to increase defence spending and I suspect most will agree to that considering the state of playI'm Assuming starmer is probably full of shit and will make a u-turn on that as per other pledges, so no worries.
Who settled the strikes?Bit of a silly comparison to say 2m more appointments than when folk were on strike but waiting lists are down (which was actually their pledge) so long may the trend continue.

Keir Starmer: Pledge of two million extra NHS appointments met
Sir Keir Starmer says the figure is a "shot in the arm", but "the job isn't done" to bring down waiting lists.www.bbc.co.uk
Taking the overall economic picture into account, the government are going to have to either pull a rabbit out of a hat or tell us to buckle up for bad times a head if we are going to finance a force in Ukraine without the US.Inflation up from 2.5% to 3% and way above the target of 2%.

It's worth cautioning against economic migrants in low paid hospitality/tourism etc jobs being cheap labour though - basically modern slavery.
Wasn't casting aspertions on the workers, just the (possibly) low pay.Working in hospitality in Spain is not considered “cheap labour”. A waiter/waitress will know their stuff re wines etc. ..:
Who settled the strikes?
Your stream is 6 months behind.Settle the strikes!!!
Just pay them all bust the country!!
See off the pensioners ( they don’t matter) these MPs will have massive pensions!!!
Problem is the raise in NI hasn't started to impact businesses yet. The proof will be where we are in 6 months time.hard to find in the UK press unsurprisingly

UK’s much-feared wave of job cuts is failing to materialize
A threatened avalanche of job cuts after Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves unveiled her tax-raising budget has so far failed to materialize, with memories of how difficult it was to rehire workers following the pandemic persuading many firms to hang onto staff instead.www.chinadailyhk.com
Maybe, maybe not....Problem is the raise in NI hasn't started to impact businesses yet. The proof will be where we are in 6 months time.
I can't speak for all industries, but companies involved in major infrastructure project design and construction have scaled back their recruitment, frozen it completely or are examining "cost savings".
Nat ins rises haven't come in yet, I suspect most companies will just pass the costs on so it will likely affect inflation.hard to find in the UK press unsurprisingly
