The Labour Government

What’s wrong with the headline, LBC used it this morning and there was no pushback, just an equivocal understanding that Starmer said that those who are worried are racist.

Is it not true?
Starmer's not said that those with concerns about immigration are racist. What he said was that that particular Reform policy is racist. Obviously, the Daily Mail being the Daily Mail have exaggerated what he said with their headline.

Of course the headline isn’t true and was simply put out there by the DM to cause trouble
Not had time to catch up with these debates but if that’s clearly untrue, surely they must put out an apology.

State of our current media, do people read this and actually believe that they are there for their well-being?

Disgraceful.

That’s not exaggeration, that’s plain and simple ‘lying/misinformation’.

I shake my head when thinking that one of the biggest publications in the UK has turned to such means to influence and divide people.

Are you really this naive, or just blinkered? Where do you think these speculations originate from? You think the Tories leaked them but your beloved Labour party is so squeaky clean, such tactics would be beneath them? Come off it mate, you're not that daft, you can't be.
Without evidence, you shouldn't judge one government on the practice of the previous ones.

True. Maybe I was giving the DM a little bit too much credit when they don't deserve any!

Why the hell does she keep trotting out the same line - everyone knows there's no similarity between a Labour Government and a Conservative Government.

Interesting. Listened early than that and Ferrari who used the headline as the truth, but the same broadcaster then changes tac to show the lie?

Confused? You will be ;-)
It is a very interesting balance they strike. Ferrari doesn't actually have the nouse to vary his pre-prepared notes. i know this as a few weeks ago, he stated something right at the start that was factually untrue, I called to point this out. An hour later he did the interview spouting exactly the same lie. He's very much a traditional tabloid journalist but unfortunately for him, he's in a digital world where his bullshit can be pointed out if people can be bothered to do it.

Bravo. How you manage to keep this up is quite remarkable. You have no evidence at all that the Tories leaked possible policy moves any more than Labour do. But don't let that get in the way of your dogma. You never do.

These companies don't just prioritise tax benefits, they also have to prioritise a workforce that is educated and isn't off long term sick but unless we increase spending then these kind of things are going to get worse. Surely spending cuts to fund tax cuts will make this even worse?

Productivity is on its arse, the lowest in a generation and that isn't because there are too many immigrants or because taxes are too high.

There is a second reason why those companies base themselves in Ireland and I think that's also pretty obvious because the UK may be 30 miles away but legally and logistically we may as well be in New Zealand. When Reform get in what's left of our relationship with the EU will be torn apart and no company will ever choose to base here.

Elon Musk had a choice of where to build Tesla's in Europe and he could have chosen the UK but instead he chose Germany? Why is that? It isn't because of taxation.
1. These companies located to Iraland and NOT the UK, whilst we were in the EU.
2. Your point on skills and workforce availability is of course a factor - it would be daft to argue otherwise. But do think that Ireland was so much better placed than the UK in that regard? Of course it wasn't. The tax regime was the main reason they picked Ireland.

And regards Musk, doubtless Ed fucking arsehole **** Milliband's obsession with driving up our energy bills so he can feel got about reducing the world's CO2 but 0.3%, is a big factor is Musk picking Germany and not the UK.

3. Yes we need to get more people back in work. But how about a bit of stick as well as carrot? All Labour ever want to do is carrot. There's plenty of people genuinely unable to work who could possibly do some work if helped. I am all for helping them. But there's also a load of malingerers who need a kick up their arse and stop moaning about "But it's affecting my mental heath" when they mean "I don't like it, I get stressed". Many of them need to suck it up and get a job

Before anyone jumps down my throat (doubtless the usual communists will anyway), I am NOT saying this is everyone, but it is undeniably a certain cohort.

To be fair, anyone that watched parliament during the Tories tenure would know that.
