Not that I watch it but Oracle team winning the America's cup 10-9 after being 9-0 down. Recall that being everywhere at the time, to the point that I watched the last race to see what the fuss was about.
Also quite a few already mentioned.
Nottingham Forest coming straight up from the 2nd division to win the 1st division surely has to be there or there abouts, alright the gap from top to bottom was closer but they also had less money. Followed by their European Cups.
Becker and Sharapova winning Wimbledon at 17 years old.
Denmark winning the Euro's after failing to even qualify has to be close, as does Greece winning it.
Theres a few shocks in American sport too. New Orleans Saints winning the Superbowl just a few years after the city was ripped apart and the team nearly moved to another city. Tyson vs Douglas.
Leicester would be in the ball park though.
For a shock of the opposite kind, City being relegated the season after winning the first division (now premier league).
