My dad stopped getting it delivered mid 70s a rag for rags .
these days?As a resident of Bournemouth, I don’t tend to follow the MEN, but after the last couple of weeks I was somewhat shocked how anti-City the local rag is these days. They seem to be so biased towards the Salford team. Do they really seem to want to alienate a huge proportion of their potential readers? Mods might wish to transfer this to the media thread, but I think this deserves a discussion of it’s own.
Incredible that it's still produced and their web site is even worse. It's a pile of shit full stop.
I interviewed the editor of the MEN around 1993 for the fanzine "This Charming Fan", mainly complaining about the paper's bias against City and being pro Rag.MUEN, written for Rags by Rags and has been for years.
I wouldn't wipe my arse on the printed version and won't click on anything posted on line.
The sooner this shitstain of a publication goes under the better.
True. The bias goes all the way back to the 60s from what I've heard. I remember those comments pages and all the rags saying we'd never overtake them. Daft cunts they're a fucking embarrassment now and should drop Manchester from their name. Cunts.these days?
nothing new at all.
some of us on here cut our teeth in the muen comments section 15-20 years ago because it was so biased against city.
it was great fun at the time.
