I read Govnor General by Andrew Bennion last year. I thought that was a good read as it explained his background and upbringing as well as the tales of rucks with other firms. For once it wasnt all one sided either!

I was at many of the away games detailed in the 80's so interesting stuff.

Th 80's were just mad when it came to football violence

I will buy the book and read it for deffo,these lads (although I dont condone violence) are what football clubs have.

As long as they would help out old Blues,and women with kids in trouble,which am sure they would at any games were it was going off,then they would always get my blessing

I understand the helping out fellow blues, but who are they defending us against? Their opposite numbers. The mindless idiots of other clubs, if they were eradicated from both sides then we wouldn't need defending.

MIBS for a start,although mocked on here by many,I wouldnt want to get caught up with them fuckers,especially if I was with the mrs,I always were my steelies on derby day.u know just in case like

I don't believe that for 1 second, absolute nonsense in fact. If what your saying was true the vast majority of people would indulge in that kind of behavior. A calmer society? Were not wild animals, we have brains more much advanced than any other animal and can certainly refrain from unnecessary violence. Sunday - Got up at 11. Turned Sky on. Went to pub. Had tea.
Monday - Did a shift at work. Came home. Had tea. Went to bed.
Tuesday - Did a shift at work. Came home. Had tea. Went to pub. Went to bed.
Wednesday - Same as Tuesday. Bought some strongbow from the off licence.
Thursday - Same as Wednesday. Bought something from JD Sports on the way home.
Friday - Went to work. Came home. Went out. Had it large. Drank and took some shit. Mental stuff.
Saturday - Got on a minibus to the Midlands to watch City. Ran down a main road with 20 nobs. Claret, other firm running away, took on 34 of them on my own. Something about trains and smashed windows.

A good few years ago someone I know summed the whole hooligan publishing phenomenon up something like this:

All good lads, we never went looking for trouble or started any, but if it came along we were up for it; never ran or lost a battle.

Pretty much sums it up for me, and I've had the misfortune to read a few.
