The Newcastle crowd applauded our team. Anyone else?

I remember going to Bradford City away in the 2nd. Division, night game, City end sold out, so I got in the Kop with all their lads.

We won 4-2 that night and White and Stewart were magnificent. Their Kop clapped City off that night and all were extremely generous in their opionions of us.

Oh, and they clapped us off the following season as well I think!

I remember a healthy applause for Thierry Henry after he dragged the ball from the heavens and hammered it into the back corner in an instant.

Didn't Oxford fans mob Kinkladze after he scored twice at there place outside the main entrance? Think I remember it being reported at the time.

Yeah they did - he was amazing that - got a standing ovation at the end of the game from all 11 stands. Good day out that.

did gillingham do it when ali b backheeled to the goat in 02?

I was there but don't remember them doing so mate.
I wasn't there, but they definitely did, at least from what I saw on the TV.

Remember being told by my uncle that West Brom came to Maine Road in about 1978 (not when Owen and Barnes came back btw) and they took us to pieces and were given a standing ovation at the end.

I'm going to commit potential heresy here but I recall a reasonable number of blues in the Kippax applauding Hughes' goal in the 5-1. We were 3-0 up prior to that and it was a spectacular goal. I would like to add that I was not one of them.

I was there at Gillingam that day. And, yes, they did applaud us off and particularly they applauded Goater's goal. And the WBA game you refer to was the Cyrille Regis goal (still possibly the finest opposition goal I've seen) and it was clapped to the rooftops by the Kippax.

It was a wow moment, even if it was an opposing player!

The Ali B/Goat goal at Gillingham, you can see their fans applauding behind the goal on the end of season video.
Another I'd forgotten was Fulham away two seasons ago, when Yaya ran the show and I think we were three up at half time, did it finish 4-0? Their fans clapped us off at half time.
Remember the Huddersfield fans getting a clap after the 10-1 for treating Andy May's consolation penalty like a Wembley winner.

Does anyone else remember Villa away, early 90s, City had a 'good luck from the City of Manchester ' banner, Villa were chasing manure for the title at the time

It was our first away win for two years.

Remember it well. And typical city got their first top division away win for four years, against the top of the table, in the one game we didn't mind losing. Live on ITV.
