First semi final since 1981....

win the game in hand and we're 1 point off 3rd....

Beaten ONCE all season

It's now december

have more money than ANY team come jan....

so whats the beef!
There wont be any arguments if the team start winning. Some people like moaning, but the vast majority of fans just want to support the team.

If City can reproduce those performances in the league, the Hughes Outers will melt away. It's all about results.

This, of course is the mystery. The rest Barry has had worked wonders. Much better tonight than the previous fixture in which he was involved, but the level of effort, the chasing down, the cover, particularly across the back was miles ahead of the Hull and Burnley performances. Mind you, the Arse did play like a blunt pencil with no sharpener. I can't understand why we don't produce week in week out. The effort and determination we saw tonight should be the minimum on offer for each game.

Re: Hughes Outers....

Really chuffed tonight.

Never mind the score. Never mind the quality of the opposition.

Tonight was all about the PERFORMANCE.

I never had a problem with our points total, or our league position... but the performances this season have been, by and large, rank. But tonight showed that we have a squad as good as any one apart from Chelsea, and when the players are fully committed we can achieve miracles!

And as a renowned Hughes critic I would like to commend him for HIS performance. While many on here see it as an irrelevance, I thought that Hughes on the touchline made a Hell of a difference. He urged the team on, he showed a real involvement... for just about the first time this season he looked as if he had passion for City... and it showed by the result that small things can lead to big victories.

Well done to everyone.

Re: Hughes Outers....

Just got back from the game and logged on (as a Hughes Outer) to say that the manager got it right tonight and I have no complaints. He even showed a bit of passion on from the dugout. Lets kick on from here.

OK. Please stop with the 'We've only lost once all season@ because that shows you know fuck all about football and have probably never played it. I shall explain. When you are in a competitive league, it is ranked on points you muppet not losses.

When was the last time we had £200M to spend? Was it 1981, No. It was never.

If we win the game i hand, we are 1 point off 3rd. If we win every game from now on, we will win the league.

Don't get me wrong, I am elated about tonight. It doesn't change my opinion about Hughes though. We beat a weak Arsenal side, thanks to a couple of wondergoals. Hughes is not clever enough and cannot take us to the Premier League title.

Please refrain from making stupid posts as you are the forum idiot.

agree with most of this ^^great result tonight great atmosphere. some weak performances again against an inexperienced arsenal side. swp was brilliant lescott, tevez and bellamy were good also. adebayor was isolated upfront. hes not a target man please play it to his feet or behind the defence for him to run on to. as for the insults against the stupid post, i dont think i`ve ever agreed with a word he`s ever said but calling him a idiot is a bit ott. imo

now city, if this result has released the handbrake off your play we might get something to shout about on saturday. prediction 1-1 or 2-1. 2-1 if ade and robbi are playing

TBH i was always confident we would beat the arsenal second string.

For me it is the next 3 games where Hughes needs to 'prove' himself.

Correct. - The next 3 games will decide the whole season, if we lose all 3 it will be over in the league and Hughes must go despite our win against Arse youth.
Even a semi win against the rags and a Carling cup trophy is not enough. A top 4 finish is all that matters and will prove that we have "arrived". Anything less is crap because we have spent £250m to become a top 9 team !!

shows the post polls were more reactive than anything. As soon as we (if) lose to chelsea the Hughes out will spike.

Splinters.

I want him to succeed but his tactics and team selection suggest he's not the man for this particular task.
