Re: didnt expect any favours

Fuckin gutted, but I've no complaints about today. The Scum did what they needed to do & whilst the referee wasn't great, in all honesty I've seen far worse refereeing displays and I'm no Rag for calling it as I see it. It was odds on that ManUre were going to win today, Spuds have a poor record against the teams in the top 5 this season and I didn't seriously expect that to improve against The Rags today TBH.

Harry Houdini again failed to come up trumps when it really mattered and if anything I think it brought into sharp focus all the calls for him to be a shoe-in for England manager............ Actually he'd be ideal because I'm sure he'd follow in the time honoured traditions of falling flat on his arse when it mattered most like all England managers invariably do.

Back to The Swamp Dwellers; They were away today doing what they needed to do to keep the pressure on us, but their fans still found time to sing 'You're just a shit Man City' to Spuds! And they call us bitter and obsessed!!

I also heard Peter Spencer on Talkshite earlier pointing out that it's become increasingly noticeable that The Rags are constantly hitting the media talking about how they expect us to slip up and how they expect to win the Premiership because of their superior run-in experience. He went on to add, 'But this Manchester City side just don't give up and just keep grinding out results and seem totally unaffected by ManUre's mind games and barracking and just don't look like losing, so you have to ask who out of the two are really feeling the pressure'?

On MOTD last night, does anyone recall the commentator pointing out how tired and tetchy Mancini looked? He even went on about how his scarf wasn't tied as immaculately as it usually was and that his hair didn't look as pristine as it always does and how the pressure looked like it was getting to him! I wouldn't mind, but we were 2-0 up at the time and controlling the match FFS!!!! ........ They're trying to hit us from all angles boys and girls and its for us to give our team 100% support at every game and that includes if or when our resident mongrel plays for us again.

Just like the OP quite rightly said, we shouldn't be relying on anyone else apart from ourselves. We have the advantage and the wherewithal at our disposal to do this for ourselves and as the boss said, if we win all our remaining games, we'll be OK. It's a big ask, but we'd be foolish to think that winning anything would be easy.

For ManUre, it's not so much about winning their 20th league title, it's more about stopping us from winning and they are putting in extra effort to ensure they do this. That's why we need to concentrate our efforts on what we have to do and the rest (as they say) will take care of itself.

Swansea, stoke, Norwich away games for us is were I can see us dropping points,3 very hard matches for us, don't think we will have a problem with Chelsea or arsenal imo.can see them dropping a few points at home and maybe Blackburn away usually the games were you expect a team to win but they end up dropping points and they also have to play us.going to be very close.last year we finished very strong so we will see how it goes.

If Van Persie plays then Le Arse on current form will be a massive game one we could easily loose

Ruthless today the rags, fuckin ruthless. Reminded me of Us v Porto at home.

This is getting horrendous now. They just wont go away. I couldn't bear it if the derby is the decider.
How did you remind you of Porto?

Utd were 2nd best for 45 mins if not 60 and scored with their first effort on goal

why the fuck should we be concerned about the derby being the decider ? we have murdered them 6-1 and played with ten men against them for 85minutes and narrowly lost. Cant wait for yooonited to come to our place , because they are going to get a lesson they will never forget , and i hope they bring the premiership trophy with them , it will save us collecting from the swamp.

If you think it is going to be easy, you are sadly mistaken. The 6-1 was a one off.

Re: didnt expect any favours

said it for a while now our minimum target is going into the derby 1 point behind manure, then a win and a draw against newcastle and qpr will win the title on goal average 'as long as we beat united which we will' if we can pull points clear before the derby thats a bonus

Re: The Run In (game by game)

The rags will win every game between now and the end of the season, the derby aside.

I agree with the poster above who said we need to take each game one at a time. Individually we can win all our games but grouped together it looks a big ask.

My heart tells me we can do it, sadly my head is saying we won't. Not because we'll collapse in any particular way but because of my first sentence in this post.

Re: didnt expect any favours

We were all saying these last 5 games would be where we created a bit of a gap and the rags had to go and win them all :(

Comparing the run-ins we have much much harder fixtures and tbh can't see us winning the league anymore. Today's result for them has really gutted me, starting to lose faith

Sadly i think this is the case - fookin well pissed off

Re: didnt expect any favours

Didn't expect spurs to get owt to be honest. They dominated the rags for the first hour without creating loads of chances. The rags were just the rags though and get goals at important times.

If Chelsea beat Birmingham in the FA Cup Replay, United play at Wolves that week in the league and we have a spare weekend. Do you think possibly playing catch up will affect the team?

I'm hoping the Chelsea home game (if needs be) gets rearranged as soon as.....

Fancy Wolves to get something from that game so don't think we'll be playing catch up anyway.
you're taking the piss

did you watch Wolves today before the red shite?
