The Post General Election Thread

The Socialists in France achieving an impressive 28.3% youth unemployment , didn't Beaker say he admired Hollande?

I quite like it when the petty insults start to fly.

It reveals the character of those who make them, their lack of anything constructive to say and their poor debating skills.

This thread is full of bitterness by people who find it hard to celebrate the decision of the people at the recent election.

A joy to read.

I was called a f***ing c**k by someone not far away recently

I have not posted much and for a while as i was getting pissed off with this place to be honest but i spent some time studying the extent of the cuts in Public Sector planned. It is only taking us back to where we were a few years ago - pre the explosion in the Public Sector spend and the huge deficit problems. The extent of the cuts is small percentages. Saving £1 pound in every £100. To me that is improved efficiency and good business practice.

You have posted this post about "what happened last time etc" quite a few times. In my opinion it is scaremongering at best.

Let the government do its job and judge it in 4 years.
I am not making it up it happened society started to breakdown and they had to start spending money quite fast, and it cost more than they saved, it's not scaremongering it's a fact, and it will happen again I can guarantee, in a few months the Tories will be ad unpopular as ever, in a couple of years the sleaze will start again and in 5 years they will be booted out, and people will say they are finished as a party, Labour will get in again and repeat the same mistakes and mismanagement then they will get booted out, rinse and repeat

We were told the tories were as unpopular as ever before the election and look what happened.

If it is only £1 in every £100 then your time spent studying the cuts can explain this

Welfare bill is projected by the OBR to reach £167bn by 2017 but Osborne wants £12bn of welfare cuts.

Now maths is not my strongest suit, but £12bn is not 1% of £167bn

Thanks in advance.
