The Post General Election Thread

an excellent election result, thankfully the majority can see the only way forward is to stop spending more than you earn!

It is still ridiculous though that a 20 year old has been elected over a man who was doing, even by people said who were not even in the same party, a very good job.
That's politics .
It's a brutal game .
I'm always fascinated by the rivalry like Heath and WIlson .
In fact the BBC did a good program on those 2 Primeminsters .

Well they voted for the wrong party then because the Tories have been spending more than we earn

When the Lights went out is a great read.

It's a toss-up as to who was the biggest wanker.

Proper champion Dave ....,,,,
Even John Major won an election with a bigger majority .......

A clear mandate from the Electorate, as a bonus he has seen off Salmond , Beaker , Clegg and Farage and destroyed the Socialists.
He saw off weak opposition .
He should won by more .
So it's hardly a ringing endorsement of him and his party .
Bollocks. Before you were saying they wouldn't last 5 years just as Major didn't (when he actually did).

I'm not putting much faith in your political know how.

Also, the bookies had Labour odds on two years ago and several posters in this forum were throwing £1,000 bets about saying the Tories didn't stand a chance.

They picked up a hospital pass and ran like hell with it and scored a great victory.

Yet reducing that deficit faster than Labour planned to.

I don't normally comment on political threads, but I totally agree with this, no matter what your politics, some fairly talented (if sometimes unpopular) people have been kicked out of government (even if in opposition) in the last 24 hours, and while I mean no disrespect to the young lady elected, I doubt she offers much, other than a mouth, to proceedings at Westminster, its not her fault though so good luck to her.
