What extension would you offer KDB? He'll be 34 when his current deal runs out. Not saying he should be kicked out or not offered one, just curious to how you would play it? Personally, I think we'd offer a reduced wage in an extension and I'm not sure he'd go for it

1+1 with an option to move to NYCFC on a free at the 12 month stage.
 
Id be surprised if kdb signs on. He will leave next summer on a free to Saudi for huge money and good luck to him.
 
To have a better insight, here are player's minutes of last season
and my own scenario of this season 2024/25 (in the box).

I assumed 67 matches (split up on the right side).

Some might play less, most more than last season.
You might disagree here and there.
It will give a better assessment if we need more players
or if our kids would not get enough in that case.

It might be useful to make a separate projection if we get knocked out of cup games early.

One more addition in and I’d call it an impressive window. I think it’s gonna be a back-up striker. I would go Duran.

Right, but I mainly wanted to contribute something to the transfer debate "we need 1/2/3 or none at all" that seems to be just be a matter of feeling - which in reality of course it's not.

I guess I will be there again next time in a transfer window... ;)
 
Letting Wilson-Esbrand take some minutes at left back would solve that defender depth issue I reckon.
We need to let someone else go in midfield though. With İlkay coming back we'll have 9 players (Rodri, Kova, Gundo, Nunes, Bernardo, O'Reilly, McAtee, de Bruyne and Foden) fighting for just 3 spaces in the team, with players like Lewis, Grealish and Bobb who can also play there. If we can find a transfer or loan for Nunes would make the most sense IMO, otherwise McAtee and O'Reilly will get next to no minutes and Foden and/or Bernardo Silva will be stuck out wide for another year.
