I sincerely hope they are playing at Glastonbury and if they are, I hope the bunch of tramps all have a shave.

Didn't see them in their heyday but I did go to Heaton Park a couple of years ago. I agree that Ian Brown's not much of a singer but I thought that the rest of the band were good instrumentally, given how long they'd been retired. John Squire's up with the best guitarists around, other than the giants of the early seventies.

Glad you added the giants of the 70's because he ain't fit to lace page, or Blackmores boots.
My son absolutely adores them, and as an old fart I've actually been to watch a lot of modern bands with him in concert.
Oasis umpteen times since 1996, Ocean Colour Scene, The Verve, The Coral, Kasabian I've seen these and more.
However the Stone Roses I think are shite.......sorry just my opinion.
I will cut John Squire a bit of slack as a fellow blue, and I've a bootleg where he plays guitar on Champagne Supernova with Oasis at Knebworth in 1996 and it's brilliant!!

Isn't Squire a red? Thought Reni was the only blue?

Brown is red from a family of blues, Squire is a red, Mani is a red, Reni is a blue

I get these modern bands confused and your right JohnSquire is a red, I was thinking about Johnny Marr thats the City fan, and I knew there was a blue definately in the Stone Roses.
Like I said earlier my lad loves them whilst I can't see what all the fuss is about.
Please tell me Brown didn't say that. Please.everythingchangesbutblue said:Never got into the roses myself but a mate of mine who loves them lent me a biography of theirs. Opened it up randomly and the 1st line went something like this
Squire " i want the next album to be like Led Zeppelin"
Brown "why? we're already better than they ever we're"
No need to read anymore after that. Average band that came at just the right time.
