The amount of time it's taken them to wake up to the reality of FFP merely confirms my belief that most sports journalists are sinfully stupid.

You really believe that Gord ? I'm of the opinion they've known all along, it just didn't suit them (or most of them) to report it as such, maybe change is afoot ?

I agree, but the only change afoot is the spending of Liverpool and the scum which must be perilously close to their limits or even over them

Re: sunday supplement and ffp

I'd be ashamed if I was a journalist and I'd only just realised what this was all about.

Utd could spend a billion more and not be affected by FFP.
They aren't in Europe.

But once they are, they're losses will be subject to FFP. We also have the Premier League FFP.

The Premier League has their own FFP as does the Championship (QPR are being threatened with Relegation by the Football League if they end up back in the Championship (due to alleged infringement of FL rules)

I initially thought that maybe City's PR team had been doing a great job in pushing this line and maybe they have. But the cynic in me, having heard it repeated by quite a few different people who aren't normally 'on message', leads to an alternative view. That is, it's the new line being pushed by the old G-14 cartel, having realised they've failed to stop us and Chelsea and now it's the rags in trouble and who could fall foul of it.

It's a great concept really, FFP will get in first and destroy clubs to save them the indignity of destroying themselves through reckless spending. I hope QPR will be grateful for the protection FFP offers clubs when they are sitting in the conference.

How could Utd fall foul of FFP?
