I was thinking about this last night. The best solution for me in all this and to make things more competitive and interesting would be a completely random champions league draw. That way let’s say a team like Leicester gets top 4 and a lovely draw in the champions league. Just maybe they could progress to a later round and make a fortune or even win it. If we drew Barca Bayern and Real in the group stages and went out so be it. Also I would make the 4th place team in the prem play a knock out game with the Fa cup winner for the final champions league place. More risk and more excitement and more chance for smaller clubs to get in the big competitions.
Love that idea, one problem, to much risk for the greedy 12. Now is the time when the rest of football need to take back ownership of the game and bring in fair and realistic reforms, something like you suggest would be great and if there was ever a time when the so called big clubs have lost influence it is now. Hit them now before they get back up off the floor.

I honestly could not get wound up about it. It was nonsense and a non-starter anyway. What I found most amusing was that clubs, fans, journalists and pundits appeared to have suddenly realised the cabal are all about lining their pockets at the expense of others. If anything, it just highlighted the naivety of clubs, fans, journalists and pundits. Yet these will continue to view FFP as a good thing. Thick as mince.
I said in the media thread that the football press have been brutally exposed as gullible rubes who have been sleeping on the job for years. Allowed the American owned clubs to cook this up right under their noses while they were instead pointed in the direction of ‘dirty Arab money’

Whatever City are doing behind the scenes I wish they would hurry up.

We need to hear from Khaldoon and not in writing. We absolutely deserve to hear an apology and that any future proposal will not feature an invitational tournament based on current popularity that cuts out all other clubs for greed.

Even “sorry” would be nice.

Most City fans are dying to forgive them, it’s not something they should be wary of doing.

Is it possible that a small part of the decision to join was in fact it our (the fans) hatred for Uefa and that the owners thought we would be okay with it ....in fact pleased with it. Is it right that we now take the moral high ground after the fact knowing how much we despise Uefa. Did we have a part in this saga?

I’ve predicted since it all started to unravel that Soriano will be offered up as a sacrifice. Probably not a sacking/resignation but more likely a sideways move to head up CFG overseas or something similar. The media and the football world wants heads on stakes now
I think our silence says different. Let everyone else talk, & we should ride it out until Sunday's final. This week's newpapers will become next week's fish & chips wrappers. Soriano is too valuable to City to dispense with. As our CEO, it's incumbent on him to look at all opportunities & put City first.

The fact we pulled out ahead of everyone else, & have said very little should suffice. We've got a job to do, so I doubt we'll throw the baby out with the bath water over this failed coup not of our making. On top of this, we have no friends in the PL, UEFA, G14 or the ESL, so fuck the lot of em, we've nothing to apologise for after what the bastards have tried to do to us over the last 12 years. No harm done.

One other point club rivalries have come back a little too quickly for my liking. At least wait until tomorrow!

All our anger should still be focused on the clubs rather than any rush to defend them for their part in it based on club loyalty.

We might be less accountable than those that came up with it but we are not heroes in this. City made a huge mistake.

Fess up City.
