We will lose every advantage here. Other clubs can now match up to us in facilities too. 55% spending ratio means the clubs with prestige get the best players.
Same offer from City and Barca? Player goes to Barca 8 out of 10.
Absolutely. We’ll be in the big pond alright, but we’re unlikely to ever be the biggest fish.
The problem with UEFA is that they are corrupted as fuck and now Tebas is on the board aswellI feel UEFA and the PL have to be strong on this matter and cut their nose off to spite their face for the long term benefits.
As a business economic decision, it is crazy to expel the clubs who bring in a vast majority of your finance. You would weaken your competition and ultimately become second rate.
However, the ESL will start off at 10 games, then expand to 18 then 24 until eventually you have a fully fledge 38 game competition.
So the PL and CL have a huge decision to make as if they do allow it on a hybrid model the ESL will take over naturally.
Expel them now, get the vast majority of people on your side with your decisions and there’s a chance the ESL falls flat on its face and they all come crawling back.
They cannot allow them to build a brand and history otherwise it’s game over.
I don't think we really wanted it (we're doing fine without it) and I don't imagine we expect to be fully part of the clique but as you say, we probably didn't have much choice.Perhaps City had no choice but I can’t see how they think they will all of a sudden be part of the clique.
In hindsight I fucking hated that. And to think years ago we were everybody's second team
Pep is not going to be here forever. Not sure about that ... players chooses Pep vs who is even Barca’s coach these days?
Players chooses Pep over anyone 8 out of 10 times ...
Plus if we play it right and go on win this new thing a couple of times early on then that’s the history in that competition and none of the old CL trophy count will apply ...
Not saying I like it one bit, but underestimate our owners and the Spanish guys running at the top ... they’d have thought this out before signing up, they’ve been against it for a decade and fighting for outside and might have thought let’s try from the inside ... doesn’t make us as fans feel good or right about it but surely that’s part of their thinking here ... (again, not justifying them joining the cartel - it was a perfect opportunity to show the rest up and stand tall today but they have chosen not to)!
and bayern? and atalanta? and the countless clubs much better than arsenal acmilan wich didnt see c1 in 8 years?PSG must be panicking. In bed with Uefa, can’t jump ship.
neymar and Mbappe contracts up for renewal, you think they don’t want to play in this? Agents will be hammering phones tomorrow.
