why would be result irrelevant?

Winning super league will have higher prestige soon than current CL given you win against mostly best clubs of the continent who are all very rich/quality.

CL is huge because of clubs like Bayern, Real, Barca etc.

Without them CL will be Besiktas/Sahtar/Basel ec which is basically EL level when it comes to KO stages.
milan ac isnt in c1 since 2013. Si this means no atalanta, no napoli, no roma who were all much much much better than milan past decade. In fact italian clubs are shit in c1 for many many years now, atalanta being the only club shining in years.
Inter isnt able to pass first round, but they d be in superleague, and not the better teams instead?
Arsenal..we have low class teams who play so much better in our farmers league than this pathetic hasbeen club...Tell me how beating arsenal is better or more rewardful than beating atalanta, leicester, or leipzig?
Tottenham they won what?????? how is tottenham better than villareal? or Lille who leads l1 this year?
No more ajax, porto, galatasaray, olympiakos etc, all great teams with great players.
CL was great in the 80s for nottingham etc...no traces of them now.
Its not because a bunch of clubs cheated their way to titles for 2 decades now that it makes history.
Dont u want city to be a world reference? or do u preferto be a barca b?

Without the Premier League those 6 clubs are no better off though, losing Champions League and Premier League revenue for this, factor in match going fans boycotting and some of them will be worse off in the long run.

This is all on the Premier League, they have to remove the 6 clubs if they participate in this tournament.
Can’t see that happening.. PL sponsors, TV companies etc all coughing up with Us , rags, dippers , chavs , spuds and the arse all fired off ? There will be plenty of posturing but it will in the end all be about the cold hard cash. That is , IMO, why City are signed up to the Super League , one billion plus investment and it’s a choice post pandemic to be or out of the the richest competition.. had to sign up.

If the teams are kicked out of their respective leagues, then the Super League will no doubt make it into a full on 38 game league, played at weekends. There would be big money in sponsorship for such a league I suspect and it would take a large chunk of viewers away from the PL.

The PL will then either have to have no relegation and take the top 6 of the Championship, or have relegation and take the top 9 from the Championship. Look then at the teams in the 'new PL'. Sky/BT will be immediately renegotiating their contract with the PL and so will other sponsors. The teams left behind in the PL would suffer even more financially.

Perhaps you are right and they will do it but it would be a very brave and possibly financially disastrous move.

Maybe this was the CFG plan all along. To take the City brand, establish it as a successful football entity, then fuck Manchester off altogether and move the whole shebang to New York
but man, why would city or psg stay in uk and france if it becomes a world superleague?? they rather be home, in qatar and uae lol, with their locals in stadiums and their own tax system

Do you think the players have only found this out at the same time as the rest of us and KDBs contract timing was a coincidence... Ok
Probably, yes. It sounds like City were forced to stop sitting on the fence and either join or give up their invite. Most pundits seemed stunned, like us, and if they didn't know, neither did any players

I think there will be such a huge backlash from fans, sponsors,& the media the club's will be forced to backtrack

It isn't going to happen. I must admit the sheer scale of the avarice behind the thinking leaves me cold, but a few European clubs taking on the might of Fifa, Eufa, and their respective domestic leagues is only going to end in isolation for the teams taking part.

Players will be barred from playing for their countries, and the teams involved will be expelled from their domestic leagues and cup competitions, which, in my view, doesn't leave anything interesting to watch. Playing European teams has always been an aside for me compared to the nitty gritty of playing domestic rivals.

If this does go ahead, I'll have no interest in it at all.

I'll not be paying £50 or whatever to watch a competition that will be boring beyond belief without any of the historical rivalries that are fundamental to the game being respected.

I'm disappointed we've agreed to go along with this. It's a new low as far as I'm concerned for our club.

This is the bit that makes no sense. There will be a short term gain in broadcast revenues but the product will obviously become stale after a period. The current CL is shit to watch until the later stages. They could have set up a genuine competition which supported the domestic pyramid structure and had a better format than the CL. Long term it would have generated even more revenues and it would have had public support. Let's be honest in the real world there would not be any risk to big clubs like Barca and Real Madrid being relegated. Ok perhaps the Milan clubs have been basket cases but they are the exception.
They want something very similar to the F1 format.
