We'll see about that.

There's no chance that United for example don't have enough fans based in the Madrid area to comfortably sell out the away end at the Bernabeau, let alone fans from the UK who want to travel.

I think this is a ploy by these 12 clubs for greater leverage with UEFA. UEFA will give them a better deal and these breakaway clubs will back down. I hope I’m right as this ESL is an abomination that could destroy football.
You're probably right but all 6 want throwing out otherwise they'll have succeeded in their blackmail to the cost of the smaller clubs. This is exactly the consequence of UEFA pandering to the G14 instead of facing them down and running football in a more equitable and fair manner. They have been encouraged to the point where they think they can hold a gun to the head of the football world for their own selfish, greedy ends. They have to be dealt with firmly, now, for the good of football as a whole into the future.

Gary Neville with a great 18minute rant, people can point to ulterior motives but to me he's speaking as a fan and I can't disagree with any of it, he's fucking fuming.

I'm the same now, I'm getting more and more angrier with it.

He has a point.

But let's not pretend this **** hasnt made mad coin out of working for a company who have been complicit in "carving the game up" money wise for the past 30 years.

I didnt see him crying his ring up then the hypocritical ****.

The Americans are risking the soul of football do not involve a US State.

MaIne Road was renamed that in Victorian times after the state of Maine from the original name of Dog Kennel Lane.

Everyone who doesn’t own an elite football club knows the CL should be “did you win your domestic league title last year? Is your league in Europe? Yeah? Well in you come”. That’s a fairytale meritocracy that will never happen.

If these clubs want to ring fence themselves in, whilst leaving a window open, it should have been put forward (by UEFA in their revised CL as well) that:

X amount of teams from each league get in (we’ll say 4); those 4 clubs being the last 4 teams to have been crowned champions of their league. If one of the 4 teams wins the league again next year (likely), everyone gets to stay chummy chummy safe friends.

If another domestic team outside of the 4 dares to win the league title - they get a place in, whatever name they give to the filthy competition, and whichever team, with the longest gap since they last won the league title, loses their place.

Simple. Europe’s elite have it in their own power to make sure they all manage to stay in the club. If they aren’t good enough for long enough, then the weakest is cast aside. None of this “oh we finished in the top 4” - you have to actually have been a champion in the vaguely recent past. I know it’s very convenient - considering that City would get in.

It’s all bollocks anyway though - all that money means the rest of the league can’t compete and even hope to get in on merit.
