I genuinely think that if UEFA offered an oil branch of sorts financially whilst keeping the competitive integrity of the competition by ensuring that clubs would have to qualify on merit these clubs would agree.

The closed shop aspect will have no doubt been pushed by the American owners of United, Arsenal and to a lesser extent Liverpool, as the competition for CL football is too fierce in the PL. 4 spots for 6+ teams so there’s always a couple of “big” teams who will miss out.

Naturally it also suits Milan, Inter and Spurs but it will have been driven by the Americans.

UEFA have accepted the proposal for a revised ECL which clubs qualify on historic criteria meaning that his season WHU and Leicester would get a place but Liverpool would

Mate UEFA are not saints in this. That's the exact corrupt body we were fighting just months ago. Bundesliga and Ligue 1 not partaking just cements their power and influence over UEFA, they are not bothered and do not want to share their control with others. Money vs money really, we are the ultimate losers. One PR vs the other right now.
 
The thing that upsets me most about this, is every single one of those cunts tried to destroy use. Not just “beat” us, but actually destroy everything we were/are & will be.
They cheated, they smeared, they changed rule after rule to keep us back.

they treated the club with absolute contempt. The club I love, and have supported all my life.
And now they’ve decided to cozy up to these same people, to give them absolute power over us, and we don’t even have a member of the board for our interest. And we’re supposed to be on board with it.

part of me knows that football will survive, and the right hands will be greased, but still.

My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
