Our owners have missed an opportunity to of been a shining light to all the other clubs around Europe , and could of been a top club amongst the rest of Europe, opportunity gone for good,

No - they didn’t.

They missed an opportunity to jump into bed with Bayern, PSG and UEFA on an equally greed-driven proposal.

There was no honourable continuity option on the table.

it’s interesting to see the PL stating that clubs cannot resign their membership of the UCL and move on - isn’t that precisely what they oversaw when clubs resigned from the Football League to form the PL?

Ceferin has no credibility- he might want to look at his own proposals for the CL before he wades in on the SL - two sides of the same coin.

I’m not supporting the SL but this is just a continuation of a process and most of the hysterics seem more based on administrators being outflanked. UEFA had no respect for the football pyramid until yesterday - they don’t like this because it’s being instigated outside their control.

If they do that the clubs will just leave the PL. The PL will not be much of a competition without the main teams in it. The TV money will plummet and it will have about as much pull globally as the Dutch league.

So the 14 clubs get shafted either way - sounds very reasonable .

Greed wins again - excellent .

Competitions..any competitions must be run independently of the clubs participating in them. You think UEFA was bad wait till our direct rivals make the rules with no buffer at all.

The clubs will decide which extra 5 clubs to invite into the ESL each year for a little holiday will they? Based on what? Do they only get a year? How do they get more? What happens to the teams that are not invited but thought they might be..what competition are they in? Do they expect that a team waits to see if they are in the ESL before declining a UEFA competition for a year?

Some of the rules are based on the more popular clubs being paid more than the rest. That’s not a competition in a sporting sense it’s who has the most fans around the World. It will be like boxing with an A side and a B side with teams choosing who they fancy beating.

Scratch beneath the surface and its unworkable Unless it’s a complete break from all other clubs forever which is what they would eventually insist on.
