Yeah and we've gone along with it !
Embarrassing
Yeah and we've gone along with it !
these are ny thoughts. This was a disasterous decision to join this cartel. It will damage the clubs reputation long term and in the short term ie this season, it could be catestrophic if we get kicked out of the competitions.
But there is still a chance we could salvage a little self respect if we are first to renege on this deal and pull out.
Just do the right thing City.

It will make the Premier League pointless...
It’ll be pointless for the Super League clubs to try and win the PL, or try full stop, because it doesn’t matter where they finish in the PL as they’ll always be in the SL. And it’ll be pointless for everyone else because if any of them finish high up in the PL, or even win it, it won’t matter because they aren’t in the SL and probably never will be. SL teams will earn so little from the PL compared to the SL that they will likely use the PL as a reserve league. Or the SL clubs would be so rich and have such good squads that no other clubs could ever break into the Top6, again making the rest of English football pointless.
What’s the point of any domestic football anymore if there’s no meritocracy?
So Pep, what are your aims for the Premier League this season; “Finish 4th from bottom by barely trying in the PL as we’ll still get in the SL anyway, to be honest, does it matter if we get relegated? Maybe not.”... “thanks Pep, back to the studio”!
And long term the aim for this will be to have the SL on weekends, moving the PL to midweek. There’s no way they don’t want all the weekend slots, no clashes, PPV games.
Why would the PL be pointless? The CL will still exist. There are 230+ member clubs in the ECA. If anything the CL will now become fairer and not so top heavy. The likes of Aston Villa, West Ham, etc will qualify for CL and can play against Bayern, Dortmund, Napoli, etc. The big 6 will play in a separate competition which people are free to completely ignore.Christ, read the thread, it’s been said about 500 times...

Remember boxing with four separate versions of the same title!?Why would the PL be pointless? The CL will still exist. There are 230+ member clubs in the ECA. I don’t watch boxing. And how is this different from UCL, Europa and Conference League - the new shiny UEFA league that starts from this year. 3 tiers of a European cup.Remember boxing with four separate versions of the same title!?
So.............. you're saying this isn't good for the Premier League? ;-)Christ, read the thread, it’s been said about 500 times...

Great points and I agree, let's hope the club see's sense and responds in this way and quicklyMaybe it's just me, but I think I could argue there'd be even better PR if we said, "We've listened to the fans, and we realized based on their input that we've made a catastrophic decision. While the sustainable income is tempting, and we have to look out for the financial interests of the club and its investor/owners, we cannot do so to the exclusion of our greatest asset -- our fans. We do not have a club without them. In addition, our employees have raised their voices and offered up their own concerns about the future of the club in a Super League structure. We must always balance the needs and wants of all our constituents: fans, employees and investors. In this case, we failed to gauge the balance correctly, for which we take full responsibility. Therefore we rescind our acceptance of Super League admission. Let us now all move forward together to make Manchester City the most successful sporting entity on the globe."
