A vote by the clubs on any changes preventing clubs trying this again will be interesting. 14 clubs will obviously vote in favour. Let’s see what the other 6 do. It will give us an indication about how sorry they actually are.

Going forward now I can only either see a status quo or a complete breakaway involving more clubs. I don’t see how a European league and a domestic league can happen.

Heavy irony in the fact that the PL was born of a minority of clubs deciding to do whatever they fucking liked to make more money.

Totally agree with your sentiments..However Munich and PSG refused and have credit for doing so..the proposed members would have known this, and without them it was a worthless league..that is what perplexes me, as a superleague without two of the best teams was always meaningless.
There were another 3 slots reserved for others to join. PSG and Munich would have taken two of them pre-launch.

As opposed to the football league who wouldn't allow promotion or relegation on merit for the first 98 years.

Or the FA who banned women's football until fairly recently so it didn't compete with men's.

All football governance is about self interest and about making money, nothing really changed. Even the maximum wage was so the directors could take more money.

I have to say, I have no sympathy for vile, elitist rags because self-entitlement and deluded vanity is at the heart of their mentality. But football needs better regulation to prevent predators like the Glaziers from the asset stripping that's been going on at Old Toilet for the last 15 years. I wouldn't want it to happen to my club.

Spot on and in the first twelve years only Blackburn, with Jack Walkers money, broke the United and Arsenal monopoly until Chelsea and ourselves with new owners money could compete.

Wonder what we’ve “settled” for? After that glowing “welcoming back to the European family” statement, now this ...

Is this how easy journalism is nowadays, just make crap up?

Is there any actual UEFA rules we've broken? They earn far too much money from the 10 clubs (not so much Arsenal & Spurs) to ban any of them, let alone for 2 years.

Marcotti is very clued-up and reliable. Be piss funny if, after trying to get us banned, United & Liverpool found themselves in the cold instead.

Have any UEFA rules actually been broken though? I get that they’re pissed off with what’s gone on but if they’re talking 2 year bans then there must be something in their rule book about breaking away from UEFA, otherwise they’ll be getting twatted at CAS again.

We know last year that Uefa have previous for not understanding their own rules before dishing out punishments. They would be daft if they did, it’s just asking for Perez and co to start pushing the super league agenda.
