Disappointed in pep thought he was a man of principle
Pep not answering any questions re ESL, another spineless club action.
Agree. It’s the first decent thing to come out of this the last 30 odd hours. Gnasher should have been afforded the same protection Yesterday. The people who need to speak on this next for City are the owners. That's bit unfair.
I have all I need to know 15 clubs that are always in the competition. After that I dont careI've slept on it and i will be honest, I don't feel that strongly or angry about it at the moment as i dont think we have the full facts of what this is going to look like. This is all a natural evolution of where the "game" has been going for the last 30 years. Football at this level is no longer a game, it's a business. That doesn't mean the consumer can't enjoy it. However we (as fans) have to realise that, and try and enjoy the sport for what it is, as sad as what it has become over the years. From the First division to the Premier league. European Cup to Champions League. Its geared to make money.
All this talk about competitiveness - the Champions League is a closed shop anyway for the big leagues - in the last 20 years, only one English club outside the big 6 has made the group stages of the CL - Leicester (might be wrong there)
And UEFA - don't make me laugh about them being the moral arbiter of the Sport as they are seemingly trying to proclaim - they talk about this "spitting in the face of fans", meanwhile they pass legislation which expands the CL by 4 teams and 100 games in 3 years time - and re-engineer the competition so the big clubs & UEFA benefit again.
City have become a global team over the years since the takeover and are ran like a well oiled business to make money.
Its never going to be the same City from years ago, its changed and evolved and this is where we are in 2021.
most if not all the shit stirrers will be off to the SL so great chance to resetThis is one of the most galling things about all of this. The status quo alternative to the ESL is absolutely fucking shite. UEFA needs top to bottom reform if it's to stave off this threat indefinitely.
Hopefully keeping quiet till a statement of intent to leave is released. He might be acting under instructions ?
so reluctant but we signed up and remain silentThis, and numerous other posts - make clear that our owners are a reluctant participant in this so-called Super League.Revealed: Chelsea joined European Super League 'not to be left behind'
Chelsea's reasoning for agreeing to be one of the 12 founding clubs for the European Super League has been revealed.www.si.com
Further, I don't see how this league actually comes into fruition - massive, over 90%, opposition by fans - even among the clubs joining the league - plus threatened penalties against clubs and players from UEFA, FIFA and very possibly league governances - and it's so polarizing indeed that government action to prevent this league from coming into being in the first place - is taking place.

IMO - this stupid league is doomed. It's not going to get off the ground.

City's pursuit of a CL title may well fall victim to this bullshit.
I cant read 300 pages, any news lads ?
Blaming the wrong people , this is not pep or the playersUnder the instruction of the greedy bastards who threaten our game?
I hope so but I think its much more likely to be say fuck all and hope this all blows over.Or maybe he knows the club is preparing something.
