All banter aside, this sort of grandstanding by Arsenal affiliated pundits can't be helping Arteta keep his young team grounded. Listen to Pep and Klopp and wise voices from our previous run-ins, and it's all about taking one game at a time and not assuming anything is done until the last kick of the match.

Bit OTT that. Anyone would think you were talking about the dippers. The last thing Arsenal are, are cheats. They’re there on merit. Im impressed with the way they play, on the front foot with proper wingers. They’re just missing a centre forward.
Didn’t say that I’m calling them divers , watch the white dive on Partey goal and get back to me

12 wins in a row needed, anything less and the title is arsenals

we have done it before so we can do it again
Do you really believe they will defeat us at the Etihad? or Liverpool at Anfield? Not happening. If we take care of our business which includes not dropping any points at home it will all fall into place for us.

12 wins to be sure which includes against them

why don't you have faith we can do it?

even if they lose to us and the red scouse we cannot afford to let them back in if we go ahead.

like you say many twists and turns to come yet but i think we will have to beat them at home, if we bank those points today then there is only 2 in it so an unexpected draw for them puts it back in our hands with our goal average being better, we have to stay focused and win our games, carry on and they will crack under the presure i have no doubt
Exactly. If we bank our home game its actually 1 and 1/2 points being that we have a big edge in GD. Gaining 2 points would not draw us level, it would then give us the title if it came to that. We were one extended second from that already being the case yesterday and that was Arsenal at home v. Bournmouth...just sayin'...

I'm missing something maybe? I not only believe we can win 12 on the bounce, I'm expecting it, but I'm not looking to jinx us. I'm just saying Arsenal will drop a bucketful of points from now 'til seasons end. I'm going to say 10 to 12. We can take this up at season's end, Meanwhile CTID.

Have done a post like this before but will do another.

After 38 games?

To reach 90 points from our current position, City are going to have to drastically improve our PPG from by 0.21. Basically we need 38 points from a possible 42, which realistically is 13 wins from 14 games (or 12 wins and a couple of draws). Arsenal are currently running at 2.35 PPP - to reach 90 points from their current position, they only need to increase their PPG to 2.37. 36 points from a possible 45, which is roughly 12 wins from 15 games. United are getting giddy but they will need to win basically all of their remaining games to reach 90 points. Arsenal have a lot more breathing room and, as a result, United dropping points in even one game will rule them out almost completely. Only a massive Arsenal collapse will give United a chance of getting back in.

I think City are looking at about 80-85 points based on how previous seasons have turned out and how our PPG rate is working out so far. Whether that's enough to win the title depends on other teams. It'll definitely be enough for 3rd and most likely will be enough for 2nd. I really would like us to go all out for the FA Cup and Champions League. Finishing in the top 4 and having a good cup run would be superb season.
It was never on for United but now it's definitely, absolutely not on.
