Tom Huddlestone has been sold to Hull City for £5,250,000.

He will probably be joined by Jake Livermore who will be on a season's loan.

I'm very sad to see Thudd leave the Lane, as there are few players who can ping a ball around quite as well as he can.

well all this ball pinging must have had a pong as whyelse would Spudulika get rid.??

Thudd isn't a first choice starter for us these days, although he was great to have on the bench.

He isn't getting any faster, so it makes sense to get what we can for him and put the cash to better use.

He deserves to be playing Premier League football on a regular basis - something he'll get at Hull City.
Agreed.

With Dembele, Paulinho and Sandro around, and with Tom Carroll now wanting to make his way into the first team, Huddlestone will be hard-pushed to get the playing time he wants.

Spurs are very much on the verge of becoming a strong force - you've got rid of Parker, Huddlestone and a couple more players that were good enough to get you to 4th/5th but not quite good enough to take you any further and you're replacing them with Paulinho, Soldado etc. and players that could get you Champions' League football on a regular basis.

If Spurs can keep Bale they'll have had an excellent summer.

He was out for almost the entire 2011-12 season with injuries and was never the same player afterwards.

So it wasn't like signing a new player when he came back?

Re: The Tottenham Thread 13/14

Does anybody think Bale is going to end up staying at Spurs?

If the reports are true that Madrid only want to pay in 20m installments I just don't see this deal going through.

For a start Levy will demand around 100m and secondly he will want a huge chunk of the money up front, I just don't think Madrid have got that sort of money to do that with the Spanish econemy as it is.

Surely if they did this deal would of gone through?? Plus, they are still paying for Modric by all accounts and Tottenham don't want to opening some sort of a tab for Real Madrid to buy their players.

I have a feeling he might end up staying.

I am beginning to think he might stay

If he does, then together with the signings of Soldado, Paulinho and the North African winger whose name I forget plus the return from loan of the very highly rated , Rose and Townsend (in my book anyway) I think they have to be regarded as Title contenders.

I think you're being deliberately obtuse!!!

Re: The Tottenham Thread 13/14

Just invested every penny I could get hold of in Hull Bakeries and Pie Shops PLC.

A growth business if I've ever seen it.

Re: The Tottenham Thread 13/14

Yes, Spurs are far from done in this transfer window.

Etienne Capoue is still very much on, Franco Baldini is using his AS Roma connections for Lamela & Osvaldo, we're after a couple of lads from Ajax and Alen Halilovic from Dinamo Zagreb stands a decent chance of coming-off.

These are very exciting times to be a Spurs fan, as it looks like we're going to mount a very serious challenge for the Title.

Sad to see some old favourites move-on though but players like Huddlestone, Parker & Gallas are not good enough to be starters in the team we're building.

I thought this was the spurs thread not the Liverpool one

Re: The Tottenham Thread 13/14

We're in with a shout, although Chelsea & City are still favourites.

Re: The Tottenham Thread 13/14

TBF, they are always in the title race - up until February.

Re: The Tottenham Thread 13/14

If silverware was handed out in August Spurs would have a truckload.
