Yes, Spurs are far from done in this transfer window.

Etienne Capoue is still very much on, Franco Baldini is using his AS Roma connections for Lamela & Osvaldo, we're after a couple of lads from Ajax and Alen Halilovic from Dinamo Zagreb stands a decent chance of coming-off.

These are very exciting times to be a Spurs fan, as it looks like we're going to mount a very serious challenge for the Title.

Sad to see some old favourites move-on though but players like Huddlestone, Parker & Gallas are not good enough to be starters in the team we're building.
Pmsl. Define serious?

it's the new term used for the period between the middle of august and october the 1st.

Re: The Tottenham Thread 13/14

Etienne Capoue will return to Hotspur Way tomorrow after his duty for the French National team to finalise his move to Spurs.

Re: The Tottenham Thread 13/14

For a team aiming to be first-rate, they're signing a lot of second-rate players. Capoue, Chadli and Paulinho wouldn't exactly start in ours or Chelsea's teams.

I think Spurs have bought pretty well this summer. If they keep Bale they're in with a good shout of top four.

And Soldado?

Second-rate too, I suppose?

Re: The Tottenham Thread 13/14

The more they buy the more you'd feel that Bale is definitely going in order to pay for them. Really impressed so far with who they've bought.

I bet Liverpool are wishing they could have done something similar with Suarez. :-)

Paulinho's not 2nd rate.

Would he start for us or Chelsea? They have strengthen the depth in their squad, but in terms of first XI, there's not much between this season and last. With the exception of Soldado.

Nah, I left him out because he will actually improve you. I thought that much would have been obvious.

Re: The Tottenham Thread 13/14

Soldado will improve Spurs' attack, much like Fernandinho will improve our midfield, both were overpriced, but the clubs needed that position sorting and it shows the correct ambition on Tottenham's part to change that. Chadli will be like Holtby I think, no more and no less than a decent option to bring in but never set the world alight, same with Capoue. Paulinho is good though, will set up nicely in midfield with Sandro and Dembele.

Paulinhio, Sandro and Dembele are all similar players - work hard defensively but not exactly creative and score loads do they

Serious challenge for the title apparently.
