You make a convincing case. But seeing as all us Spurs fans are such wankers, apparently, I'm sure you wouldn't actually expect to me oblige. And I'd hate to ruin the image that us Spurs fan collectively appear to convey anyway.

I've never said all Spurs fans are wankers. Obviously all the ones who attended the three Maine Road matches of 1992/93 were, Glenn Hoddle, Chaz and Dave, the miserable **** at our work, the ones stood on the flats outside the away end at WHL in 1991 after Niall Quinn had scored the only goal, the ones who pissed my Dad off at Wembley in '81, Jamie Redknapp, Gary Mabbutt, THFC0161, JepsenJensen, Jamie O'Hara, the one with the wonky eye when Gazza scored on the opening day of the 1990/91 season, Gareth Bale and some of the other ones are but I'm not one to tar everyone with the same brush.

To be fair alot on this forum did say spurs had made good signings,possibly with the amount of signings they have made,its going to take longer than expected for them to bed in,for what its worth they dont look like top 4 material atm but are only 4 points off second place.....

I'd been saying all season to anyone that would listen; that Spurs defence is bang average. How they had one of the best records in the PL, I have no idea. Dawson (aka DonkeyDawson, as he's known on Glory Glory) is poor; he has no pace at all, dodgy positional sense and he doesn't seem as if he can read the game at all. Kaboul is not a PL defender, that much is clear after sunday, and Walker is the most over-rated player in the PL (after the vermin's world class England contingent). How Walker won the young player of the season award a couple of years back is beyond me. Like Dawson, he has no positional sense to speak of, relying on his pace to get him out of trouble. But that'll only work for so long; witness Yaya (who isn't lightning quick by any stretch of the imagination) walking away from him before setting up Kun's second on sunday. Vertonghen is their best defender but if you play him out of position, he's fucked. And then you factor in that we didn't really get past third gear on sunday. If I was a Spurs fan, and taking into account that they simply cannot score, I wouldn't be banking on a top 4 finish this season. Too many sides better than you.

I agree with their defence being awful and was shocked that they did not improve it, but Yaya is lightning when he gets going. He has poor acceleration, but a great top speed.

As for top 4 it depends on how well AVB can mold them into a team. For me I still don't think he is doing too badly. Mourinho himself is struggling with Chelsea. A win against United and suddenly everything changes.

I am genuinely shocked that people are writing off the Spurs signings this early. They have barely been there for more than 8 games and there has been international breaks during this period.

Paulinho is actually one I expected to come good, but he seems very similar to Dembele and was not really worth the money. I have not seen much of Erikson, but have not heard great things. Not see Lamela either so cannot really judge. Solado was a poor bit of business based on the formation. Only hope of getting things to work with him is to play Adebayor up on top.

They have a problem with Townsend and Lamela both wanting to play on the right and come in, but they don't have any width on the left and Vertonghen cannot overlap. Just poor planning with the signings and AVB is trying to find a way to fit them together.

I really didn't. That's why I asked! I do try to engage you in reasoned debate but you just don't seem capable of it. I get that you hate Spurs and Spurs fans but I don't see why you can't have a normal discussion. I'd understand you may want to bring me down to earth if I was claiming I thought we were currently a team of world-beaters but I'm not. I just don't agree with the strength of your criticisms.

Anyway I'm clearly riling people which is not my intention so I'll bow out of this forum with as much grace as I can muster. My offer stands though, so send me a message (I assume I'll get emailed?) if you would like to accept.
