I love how THFC60606095 has the proper figures for every transfer.

Funny how his figures for selling players are always higher than EVERY media outlet, and his figures for buying players are always lower than EVERY media outlet.

From Wiki...

On 25 May 2007, Bale signed a four-year deal with Tottenham Hotspur with Spurs paying an initial £5 million for Bale, potentially rising to £10 million based on appearances and success.

However, Tottenham paid Southampton an early settlement payment of £2 million in 2008 to reduce the final fee to £7 million and allow the Saints the immediate cash that they desperately needed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gareth_Bale

...it appears I might have overestimated what Spurs paid for Bale by about half a million quid.

Oh well.

You paid £6m for him, and re-negotiated the add-ons with a lump sum of £3m, total £9m, still an astounding bit of business for your club.

Why you feel the need to massage figures is beyond me, or is it because everyone knows you lie anyway, so no need to try and hide it?

By the way:

Spurs Update:

Still the third best team in London.

Some of these so called super star signings AVB has got in are just big defensive athletic guys, seriously lack technique and flair like Modric and Van Der Vaart, Paulinho will be a flop and spurs looked a shambles today against a injury ravaged team that's been heavily criticised for not spending. hope Wenger watches MOTD tonight with a Peado smug grin drinking a nice French Port. Unlucky Spurs you wankers

Wonder how much Southampton got from this deal

Fuck all.

Spurs agreed to pre-pay all additional add-ons when Southampton were in financial trouble.

We gave them an extra £2,500,000 on top of the £5,000,000 we paid for his transfer.

So Gareth Bale cost Spurs a total of £7,500,000.

bargain, you'd make a good profit if you ever sell him, I know that's unlikely but still good to know.

Sandro, Capoue and Paulinho look very similar. They outmuscled Arsenal but needed someone like Cazorla to play Soldado in. Maybe Eriksen will do that

The same reason he didn't quote my Willian picture. He doesn't respond when he's wrong.

Wrong?

If you had read what I posted, it should have been clear that the targets I was referring to were the three we signed today, as it had been suggested earlier that we might not get them.

Yes, we lost out to Chelsea over Willian.

And we didn't sign David Villa either.

And there were probably quite a few more players we were after during the window who we didn't sign for one reason or another.

Your quote,

"Looking forward to spending transfer deadline day relaxing in the sunshine, drinking a gin & tonic, smoking a Havana cigar with my feet up knowing Spurs have got all the transfer targets we wanted."

You can't use the word all when you're only referring to 3 players, therefore you were once again wrong. Contrary to what you would have people believe, Spurs did not sign ALL of the intended transfer targets.
Well he has a history of lying.

No, Spurs didn't pay £6m down for Gareth Bale.

It was £5m, as this BBC report at the time clearly states...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/t/tottenham_hotspur/6693839.stm

...I challenge to to give any reputable source which says Spurs paid £6m down.

Some of those comparisons are debatable, but what isn't debatable is that Spurs now have a fantastic squad. Should be a great season for them.
If they ever score a fucking goal from open play. They can't always rely on dodgy penalties.

it's a bad night for the spuds, let's not make a meal of it.....

Spurs has the most talented team in the Premier League.

.......................................................Lloris/Friedel/Gomez....................................................
Walker/Naughton.........Dawson/Kaboul.......Vertoghen/Chiriches.........Ekotto/Rose
.....................................Paulihno/Townsend....Sandro/Capoue.......................................
Lamela/Lenon......................Dembele/Eriksen/Holtby..................Chadli/Sigurdson...............
............................................Soldado/Defoe/Adebayor

When it comes to talent that fits properly, no one else is as good. Chelsea and City have talent too. But it is lobsided. City has great forwards, and Chelsea has a great Attacking Midfield (I am speaking strictly in terms of talent and depth of talent.) Totenham is deep at every position except for Striker. WHich fortunately for them is the only position you don't need to bee deep in if you only play one. They have 1 very good striker and to average streaky strikers,

They are stacked at AM with Dembele, Ericksen and Holtby.
They are stacked at CM with Paulihno, Sandro, Capoue, Dembele
They are very good at CD With Dawson, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Chiriches
They have 4 okay at fulback (4 good and interchangeable players)
And competition and Experience is ripe at Goalie (LLoris, Frieldel, Gomez)

The beauty of this team is this. The talents in all positions are so close, that rotation is a definite. Outside of Soldado, Vertonghen (and eventually Lamela i belief) competition everywhere else will be close. I think Spurs have just guaranteed themselves a top 4, and a gnuine shot at the title.
Have you seen them play?

Ill bookmark this post for may.
