THFC what did you actually think of the game today? I've only read comments from you defending yourself but not really much of an opinion. I might have missed it. I suspect you're still optimistic, if disappointed, but what were your positives and criticisms?

We had the greater share of possession (57% to 43%) and created more goalscoring opportunities, but we were clearly lacking a player who could unlock Arsenal's defence with that special spark of creativity, especially when they had to resort to playing with seven defenders.

Hopefully, players like Lamela and Eriksen will address this problem in the next few games, and there will be an overall improvement in the team as they get to know each other better and have a clearer understanding of AVB's aims and methods.

Are you still happy with your defence both in terms of personnel and philosophy? Just seems like a lack of organisation. The AVB high line drove me (and many Chelsea fans) insane when he was here and Arsenal exposed it repeatedly today. I can see a lot of teams just hitting you on the break.

I will honestly be astonished if he does that against us (or City/United) because our AM's will shred you to pieces. But he did it against Arsenal when he was here and they beat us at SB for the first time in forever.

Which seems to be "We can't score for shit unless we get a penalty"

I think the defence did pretty well today - it was the only goal Spurs have conceded in five games played so far this season.

Kaboul being out injured again didn't help - we are so much stronger with him and Vertonghen as the central defence partnership.

Are you expecting any more signings tomorrow?

Well we'll see in the coming weeks. I do think eventually Spurs will learn how to score but the defensive setup would worry me. You may have the players available to have a respectable back line, but I really dislike AVB's approach to it.

We're your next "big" game so we'll see how things are then. Master v Apprentice, should be a good one.

There could be a surprise or two, now that the Bale cash has materialised.

As things stand, Spurs have actually made a profit of £6,036,000 during the Summer 2013 transfer window, so when you figure-in the £50m budget AVB as supposed to have been given and the extra TV revenues, there's still plenty of liquid cash if the right players become available.

Lol, 100 mill is still not enough to assemble a half decent team.
