We had the greater share of possession (57% to 43%) and created more goalscoring opportunities, but we were clearly lacking a player who could unlock Arsenal's defence with that special spark of creativity, especially when they had to resort to playing with seven defenders.

Hopefully, players like Lamela and Eriksen will address this problem in the next few games, and there will be an overall improvement in the team as they get to know each other better and have a clearer understanding of AVB's aims and methods.

Which seems to be "We can't score for shit unless we get a 'soft' penalty
True story.

Gareth Bale did not give any much pass when he was with the team, today i saw a new Tottenham who made arsenal defend for match did usually dominate but now is quite different and im really impress by the way back four pressed with pace and power wonderful and entertaining for me.

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

Spurs have added some really good players, I always advocated selling Bale and using the , frankly ridiculous, money received to bring in 4 or 5 top quality players, and that's what they've done. Yesterday however highlighted a few other things that Spurs fans need to consider:-

1 - It takes time for a team to become accustomed to what they need to do. You simply can't sign 7 new players and expect them to all hit the ground running, there will be teething problems, some will settle quicker than others. The pace of the English game will come as a shock to them all as they all come from Europe rather than other English sides.

2 - There are still some weaknesses in the side despite the number of additions. Defensively I don't think Spurs have actually improved a great deal on last season, they've added this Chiriches bloke, who I know next to nothing about so can't comment on his abilities, but they've sold Caulker and released Gallas. The return of Kaboul seems to have been greeted like the return of the messiah but, guess what, he's injured again. Maybe he'll improve the defence but, whilst I'll admit to not exactly watching hs every move as a player during his career, I don't remember him standing out as a world class centre half. Danny Rose (or Essou-Ekotto) are not of the required standard to be regular starters for a top 4 defence.

3 - Soldado, Defoe and Adebayor (plus Kane) isn't a particularly strong strikeforce, certainly not fom a depth perspective. I still think another striker would have been a sensible purchase and affordable too as, apparently, Spurs are £6m in profit this transfer window (I'm sure someone, somewhere, might have mentioned this).

4 - Spurs have bought midfielders, a LOT of midfielders. You need to pick a keeper, and 4 defenders, and a striker in your starting lineup. So that's 6 players already, leaving just 5 open slots in the midfield. Having a lot of options is brilliant, but you've got to fit Sandro, Capoue, Paulinho, Eriksen, Townsend, Lamela, Chadli, Dembele, Sigurdsson, Holtby and Lennon into those 5 spots, that's 11 midfield/attackers for 5 positions. Even with squad rotation you're going to have similar issues to the ones City faced a while back, quality players not getting very much first team action. It might have been better to add to the striking and defensive areas with some of the money, rather than signing 5 new midfielders.

As much as Spurs fans will want to put a positive spin on the season thus far, 2 wins from 3, 2 clean sheets etc, it is an undeniable fact that in 3 games now Spurs have only scored twice, and both of those have been due to being awarded a penalty. Spurs don't have the defence to dominate and win 1-0 like "The Arsenal" of old, so they need to be scoring a fair few goals. City have been pretty poor in 2 out of 3 matches, yet we've still managed to score a league leading 8 times, twice as many as our nearest competitor.

If Spurs can get the balance right I can see them easily getting into the top 4 this season, but I don't see them as being all that close to the title. maybe in the coming seasons, if the defence and up front are addressed (probably by selling the likes of Sigurdsson, Lennon, Holtby etc, players who won't get too much game time) then they have a shot at breaking the current top 3 sides (City, United and Chelsea), but not this season.
