Why?

Spurs have taken-off 23 players from their wage bill during the summer and only added seven.

Quite a few of those 23 would have been on quite high wages (Bale, Parker, Gallas, Bentley, Dempsey and Huddlestone for example).
Can you name all 23?

Does the Pope shit in the woods?

Actually, it's 24 players who are now off the wage bill...

David Bentley
William Gallas
Jack Munns
Jake Nicholson
Dean Parrett
Jack Barthram (Tottenham Hotspur - Swindon Town)
Massimo Luongo (Tottenham Hotspur - Swindon Town)
Grant Hall (Tottenham Hotspur - Swindon Town)
Nathan Byrne (Tottenham Hotspur - Swindon Town)
Alex Pritchard (Tottenham Hotspur - Swindon Town)
John Bostock (Tottenham Hotspur - Royal Antwerp, Belgium)
Tomislav Gomelt Tottenham Hotspur - Royal Antwerp, Belgium)
Ryan Mason (Tottenham Hotspur - Swindon Town)
William Ekong (Tottenham Hotspur - Groningen, NL)
Adam Smith (Tottenham Hotspur - Derby County)
Bongali Khumalo (Tottenham Hotspur - Doncaster Rovers)
Steven Caulker (Tottenham Hotspur - Cardiff City)
Clint Dempsey (Tottenham Hotspur - Seattle Sounders, USA)
Tom Huddlestone (Tottenham Hotspur - Hull City)
Jake Livermore (Tottenham Hotspur - Hull City)
Scott Parker (Tottenham Hotspur - Fulham)
Iago Falque (Tottenham Hotspur - Rayo Vallecano, Spain)
Massimo Luongo (Tottenham Hotspur - Swindon Town)
Gareth Bale (Tottenham Hotspur - Real Madrid)

How's Harry Kane progressing? Didn't really impress me last year when he was at Norwich.

He's still nowhere near starting for the first XI but he's progressing nicely.

A good bloke to have on the bench or to start in relatively unimportant cup games.

Just to be a pedantic **** (because I'm good at it) surely even you can't get away with getting Massimo Luongo off the wage bill twice.......

Ah... that's the mysterious 24th player then.

Luongo went to Swindon Town on loan earlier this summer but the move was made a permanent transfer a few days ago.

Well where's your link then?

I don't need a link, I live down here and knew a couple of the playing staff at the time of the transfer, but never mind, you carry on quoting and believing the bullshit you spout, when it suits.

You paid £6m up front for Bale.

So no link?

What a bloody surprise!

I can provide you with as many links as you want which clearly state that Spurs paid £5m up front for Bale.

And you accuse me of being a bullshit artist?

What a plonker you are.[/quote]

You do realise the internet isn't always to be believed, right?

Maybe that's a stupid question after LOADS of your posts on here.

Arsenal signing Ozil absolutly wipes the floor with any of the Spurs signings they have made, plus Arsenal haven't let there best player go. All of a sudden the tide has turned and they looks a far far stronger team to get that 4th spot.

Spurs could have afforded him but Ozil would never have come to spurs. I'm sure levy tried for di maria and contreao also. Without champions league football and wage cap players won't drop down as Castiel said previously.

I'm surprised no one else bid for Ozil, great player

I know it was talkshite but they said PSG matched Arsenals bid, it was turned down by Real as they had 'promised' him to the gunners

He always wanted to go abroad, said it at Southampton and Spurs. I hope he does well there. I can't believe he's on 300k a week, that's insane wages!! Could he possibly break the world record fee twice?!

Bog brush head going to QPR on loan. You Spurs fans must be delighted. Never a PL quality defender in my opinion. If you could just get rid of Dawson and Walker as well, and replace them with defenders who know something about positional sense, you'd be laughing.

He's now earning £40 a minute...

Different world for him now, Spurs are missing him...Bale would have come up with a wonder strike against the Arse. Townsend was trying to replicate it but he's no where near that level of quality.

Big challenge for Spurs now is how their new players integrate, Eriksen was a good buy. Soldado was ploughing a lonely furrow against Arsenal, I've been served better in Costa than he was yesterday. Eriksen *should* give you that although there's question marks over his workrate from what I can gather.
