Piss funny that the Romanian is hoping to impress for a couple of years to get his dream move to Chelsea.

I think he's still finding his feet and he's not the type of striker who drops deep when he's not getting service, he's always staying in dangerous areas for the opposition. The team has to adjust into a machine that creates chances for him without a forward holding the ball up, and he needs to adjust to being in a position where his team has more possession and other teams sit deeper in their own half. It will come, I have little doubt.
From what I've seen of him and what I've seen of Negredo, I know which one I prefer.
Negredo is more rounded and has a lot more to his game than Soldado.

Time will tell, Negredo is more suited to the PL with his physicality so it's not surprising that he has adjusted faster. I think that Soldado is more the type of striker that we need and I'm basing that off seeing him play many games at Valencia.

Jan Vertongen
Michael Dawson
Zeki Fryers/Danny Rose
Moussa Dembele
Paulinho
Andros Townsend
Christian Eriksen
Gylfi Sigurdsson
Roberto Soldado
Will be a tough game but we need to stay patient.
If Defoe is in better form, why start Soldado?

Defoe does this every season, he hits a patch of form scoring in consecutive games then all the papers and fans rave about him, he then goes on his usual spell of not scoring for ten or so games and he sneaks under the radar.
When better players come along he usually finds himself on the bench.
I love Defoe but he can be frustrating. It doesn't matter if he's on the pitch 30 seconds or 90 minutes he always has a chance to score, and if he was a better finisher he could easily get 25 goals a season.
The last 3 seasons he's only averaged 9 goals in the league. I don't know if it's complacency that his form drops but if this fires him up being second fiddle I don't mind.
Soldado has been fine in the games he played bar the Chelsea one. I think a lot of neutrals want him to fail for one reason or another.

I'm glad you post on here Crouchie, you're a credit to your fanbase. However, I hope spurs get fucked by West Ham, horrible cunts.
