Yes, I have City's total on incoming players this summer at £86,900,000, less the £15,000,000 received for players sold-on.

Which gives a net spend of £71,900,000...

...I've added the Tottenham figures for comparison.

So even without Gareth Bale, the £3m received from our cut of Giovani Dos Santos' move and the £10m+ surplus we had from last summer's player trading, there's only a difference in net spend this summer of around £7.8m between the two clubs.

You somehow missed the 20 million we got for back Balotelli

22m actually ;)

And the 2m raising to 8.5m we received for Suarez.

Regarding wages, we've prob cut millions off our annual bill were as spurs will have added 10's of millions. They'll make a loss this year for sure.

It would not surprise me if we are saving around £20m in wages each year. I doubt Spurs are making a saving anywhere near that following the transfer deals in the last few months.

Focusing solely on fees is folly. Not only are you ignoring wages but also loyalty bonuses to those who have left (with those who have them in the contracts) and agents fees. There were references to us saving close to £27m by selling Tevez even though his fee was £12m. Thus, simplying saying we have brought in £12m for Tevez is not strictly true.

Well now you're trying to compare apples with oranges.

Obviously, there is far more to a club's operational expenses than player's transfer fees alone.

And you really only get to see the complete picture when the club issues its annual financial report.

The tables I posted above were strictly limited to transfer fees paid and received for players during the Summer 2013 transfer window - no more and no less.

Refrain from the patronising attitude.

The fact remains, your table provides a limited amount of information. Information, which of course, benefits the point you are trying to make.

Re: The Tottenham Thread 13/14 part 2.

Spurs won't get top 4. Bale got them within a point of 4th last season, none of the players they have bought have the capability to turn a match like Bale did.

I think Liverpool have a better chance of top 4 if I'm honest, they have kept Suarez and have added coutino and Sturrige in Jan and invested in the squad this summer

AS reporting Bale deal done for €91m - a bit less than many were expecting.

AS have been reporting Bale as a done deal all summer long.

Spurs store worker claims Vlad Chiriches will wear Number 6 (Tom Huddlestone's old number), Christian Eriksen 10 (Emmanuel Adebayor's old number) and Erik Lamela 11 (Gareth Bale's old number).

Re: The Tottenham Thread 13/14 part 2.

IF spuds win the league i look forward to the media accusing them of buying the league.

Oh, wait....

If Spurs win the League, I wouldn't give a rat's arse what they accuse us of.

Good attitude. But i'd be surprised if you win it this season though.
